Should 343i include a little more for those purchasing the collectors edition other than just a statue (even if its AWESOME) It just seems like the $150 diffrence is pretty steep (limited Halo 5 = $100, Collectors = $250)considering bungie had theres for Halo: Reach at $100 for limited and $140 for legendary and the statue was all the diffrence. Perhaps include an extended time on Gold (perhaps 1 or 3 months) & maybe more REQ packs? Exclusive Customization just for collectors?
It’s unfortunately a little late for that. I agree, the $250 for the Collector’s just isn’t worth it, IMO. A price tag of $150-$200 would have been more reasonable. I’m also not super sold on the Limited Edition contents either. For an extra $40, you would think you’d get a bit more than a steelbook, papers, and a tiny guardian model. That seems more like an $80 price tag.
Fortunately, I’m selling my console to a friend and using that money to get the Halo console. Otherwise, I was just going to go with the standard edition for the first time since Halo 2.
I had the LCE pre-ordered the second it came out for preorder… then I saw what it contained, I immediately preordered a regular edition. Then… the Xbox One came out, so I preordered that and canceled the other two.
And I was at Best Buy, with the Gamers Club, and got 50$ off the LCE, and STILL thought it wasn’t worth it.
Call me Cheep but I think the Standard game is more then enough.
When you compare it to other limited editions, all you have to look at is the prices and you’ll realize the price is a bit over inflated.
Halo 3: $130 for Legendary
Halo Reach: $80 for Limited and $150 for Legendary
Halo 4: $100 for Limited ($75 if you cancel out the Map DLC packs cost)
Other special editions that come with big statues:
Gears 3: $150 for Epic edition.
Arkham Origins: $120 for Collector’s edition.
Arkham Knight: $100 for Limited edition.
Skyrim: $150 for Collector’s edition.
So if you ask me, even if the Halo 5 statue is a little bigger than Reach’s statue, at the end of the day, it’s not worth an extra $100. The Limited Edition is above other similar offerings as well, as most Limited Editions for games that don’t come with a statue, are closer to $80.
It’s definitely a shame. At least the console and the controllers look nice.
It’s a lot late for them to revise the limited/collector’s editions because they’re already pressing and making the (underwhelming) guardian + ChiefLocke statues.

Because it really wasn’t worth it.
That said, I did digital myself because they don’t give you anything you can use physically anymore anyway. No instruction/art books, XBL trials that don’t work if you’re an existing member, etc etc.
