As much as I cant wait for halo 5 to come out I got to admit it the limited collectors addition costs way to much. I have bought the highest addition of halo games for every one and I didn’t have a problem with the price but now Its just to much in my opinion. I mean 250$ for it is a little ridiculous it should be at the most like 150$. With that said I probably will still end up buying it because I love halo and I cant imagine not having it but I just hope someone from 343 see’s this and help make sure there wont be a price tag this high again.
If you don’t buy it this time there is a better chance it will be cheaper next time around. A very small chance, but paying $250 just shows them what you are willing to pay. If you really think it’s too expensive, don’t buy it, or buy it used.
Uhh we don’t even know what is in the edition besides the statue. Maybe wait until all of the contents are actually revealed before deciding that it’s not worth the asking price? Everyone knows paying $100 less than the cost of the system itself for one game is pretty outrageous, but let’s at least see what else is included before deciding one way or another… that’s just common sense. If it’s Halo 5 + a statue + a set of working MJOLNIR, I think $250 would be pretty reasonable.
Also “it’s too expensive, but I’m going to buy it anyway” isn’t going to help make 343 lower the price.

I bought 2 because I am a halo collector and Halo is the only game I play and the only story Im following. And I loved them all. This is a new account btw ( old one is BINGWBANG)

I dont think something like this would be possible to buy used, The game disk sure but not all the stuff that coming with this Limited edition( and emphasis on the limited according to 343)
So if anything the extra stuff will go for a premium online. Sure some one might buy multiple copies sell the disks and statues separately, then use the Down load code or sell the stuff off.
But supposedly it going to be much more limited compared to Reach and halo 3 which had so many you can find copies on sale for nearly half the price.
I bought the limited edition for Reach and Halo 4 and always pre-ordered before but I will no longer be doing either, anything beyond standard edition is not worth it imo and pre-ordering nowadays leads to buying incomplete games at launch, since I don’t know who has decided that instead of including “DLC” in the game at launch, people should pay for it separately after the game has launched while knowing it will be released before the game has even launched, the “season pass”. I do not like the way the industry is going as a whole and from now on I will be watching my expenses when it comes to games and their different editions/extra content.

If you have money to throw around on a mystery box, then good on you, but me? I like to know what I am buying before I, y’know, buy it.
As for the price, sure, $250 (or your regional equivalent) is a little much, especially considering most super special editions and past Halo Legendary editions, but seeing as we don’t actually know what is in said box ‘o’ mysteries, it is hard to say whether or not the price is actually justified.
250 sounds like a whole lot//and it is//but as a statue collector myself//you’re actually only paying about 180 or 190 for the statue and other swag the game might come with//for me it is worth it//even if i haven’t seen the statue yet//but then again maybe not//hahahaha//we’ll see once they release more details
I never saw the point in paying for anything over standard edition. £40 is already fairly steep, you could get multiple books or movies for that price.
Do what I do. Buy the normal game then get the extras for much cheaper via ebay.
Well. Imo, collectors editions should be expensive. Not everyone should have one. They should be “limited”. That being said, I hope whatever this collectors edition is worth the $$$.
Thing is though, if it’s a statue by a famous studio like kotobukiya or sideshow, this is a VERY cheap collectors, especially seeing as the statues themselves vary from 200-600 easily, and my hunch being that there is only what 5000 or so of them is that it may just be one of said studios doing a statue.
