> Halo 5- Campaign:
> When it comes to campaign, there really isn’t anything wrong. Think about it. It’s Halo! All the Halo campaigns up until Halo 4 was great in my opinion (Halo: Reach being mediocre). The only problem with Halo 4’s campaign was that it didn’t have that wonder and awe feeling the previous ones had. Even Halo Wars had it! But in Halo 4, it just wasn’t there. The story was great, but everything else just fell flat, gameplay being one of them. In my opinion, the only thing to make Halo’s campaign top notch again is to return to the roots (same in multiplayer, but that’s for later).

> Now, don’t get me wrong. I am all for innovation and what not, but after Halo 4, it just seemed to me like 343 Industries tried too hard. Halo 4 as a whole felt very dull. The only logical way to make Halo again is to do what got everyone so into it im the first place. That’s why I believe the next title should return to its roots.

> Halo 5- Multiplayer:
> This is where Halo needs the most fixing, in my opinion. Most say Halo 4 could’ve been better and should’ve been built off earlier Halos rather than Halofying mainstream elements. But then there are some who say Halo 4 is the greatest game and love every minute of it.

While any campaign can always use some nice wonder moments, I think Halo 4 did have some good ones.
Coming out of that cave on Requiem and seeing the floating spires for the first time… major wonder moment. One of the best in the series.
The Didact’s Cometh (cutscene). Especially for a long time lore fan, seeing the Didact and the extent of his corruption was amazing.
If it works for the story, returning to a ring would be cool. But returning to the ring for the sake of returning to a ring… not so much.
Just curious, how does removing new enemies and bringing back old help a campaign trying to focus on a new story?
The Prometheans need to stay, but will need some improvements to vary up gameplay and make them more interesting. They didn’t appeal well in Halo 4.
Covenant should return, but gradually lose the focus. They were there too much in Halo 4.
The Flood should (story wise too) return, and if going by the Forerunner Saga bigger and better than ever. Some nice gameplay improvements and additions.
On the subject of sprint and AAs, I think the playlist/matchmaking system should work out a compromise. Playlists with, playlists without. Catering solely to one side will not go well, as Halo 4 saw and has now made several improvements to fix. But always have them in customization options.
On the subject of weapons… I’d rather not get rid of a ton of weapons. They should have a lot of variety, but the way to nail having a lot of weapons is to make them unique. Similar, but still different enough. The Lightrifle is a great example, obviously in the precision weapon category, but it has two different firing modes. The Battle Rifle is a 3 shot burst. DMR single fire but better at range. Carbine fast and precise. Thats how the weapons should be, they all fit their category but also fit in their niches, their ranges and power effectively too.
The assault rifles didn’t do too well in that area, but improvements can be made.
Secondaries did it too, though many don’t like the Boltshot’s shotgun… changes can be made.
Power weapons are a little trickier. Many will argue 3 snipers isn’t good. The UNSC Sniper is staying, obviously. The Binary Rifle was unique and balanced in its one shot mechanic. The Beamrifle was too similar to the Sniper. I’d say bringing back something like the Focus Rifle would be best. Maintaining similar yet unique weapons.
The rocket and Incineration cannon I feel wasn’t bad. The Incineration Cannon’s breaking off fires and blast radius and such were a pretty nice difference from the Rocket and Fuel Rod.
Concussion is nice. Sword and Hammer are fine. Railgun is pretty nice, Splazor too. The SAW was a bit too much like a buffed AR, but thats technically what the weapon’s purpose is… so its not really a “bad” thing.
Grenades I feel were fine. Though you should be limited to one Plasma in your loadout.
The problem with dual wielding is that weapons need to be designed for it. As a result, the base weapons are significantly reduced in damage. If they can do it without killing those weapons, I’d say it can come back.
Vehicles. We want all the vehicles we can get, so long as they aren’t just copies of each other.
All of Halo 4’s, plus Falcon and Hornet ( they’re different enough). Pelican for really big maps. A Forerunner vehicle or two if they aren’t super overpowered.
The problem with a Longsword is that it is a fighter… made for space battles and surface bombing runs. You would need an enormous map to use one, and then it would kind of be overpowered depending on what defenses you have. Scarab could work, though the map still has to be big. Put it in the center of the map and have players fight for it or something.
I’d prefer new maps. Maps that are actually designed with that Halo’s mechanics and combat in mind. Only use remakes if you can garantee that they’ll work pretty well with little changes, and to do that you end up mostly with big maps. Thats fine, just make sure they have enough cover and such. Make sure if doesn’t turn into a camp on a hill will all DMRs or Lightrifles battle. Thats what Hemorrhage did in Reach, and Ragnorak on occasion.
