An eradication of all sentient life in the galaxy, where only the A.I.s survive. Which is why she tried to keep Blue Team in the Cryptum, because they would be safe inside.
^ I actually just made that up on the spot, but the more I think about it the more likely that is what was meant to happen…what other use would she need a Halo for?

The only issue with that is firing the rings would damage/destroy the Domain, thus Cortana. I don’t think she’s into self-harm/suicide. Plus, the Cryptum is just used for extended self-meditation, not surviving the Halo’s, though that is a good benefit. It fits well into Cortana’s plan to hold Blue Team for 10,000 years to prove she was right.
There’s speculation that the Halo she has is 07, which is one of the original Halo’s, which can do tactical pulses, so she’ll use it, along with the Guardians, to keep people in line. We don’t know, ultimately.

The Cryptum seemed to work for the Didact, or did I miss something obvious and do rings damage the Domain? I don’t really know about that, like I said I came up with it on the spot so it’s not flawless XD

The didact survived because if the shield world, Requiem, not by his master ball.

Actually, Requiem is not shielded against the Halo Array. The Cryptum was what saved him.
