We’ve all seen the Legendary ending, which involves Cortana turning on a Halo. People have debated which installation it is, I think it’s Installation 03. It was featured in the Next 72 Hours, in which Static Carillon took the Installation to an unknown location. In the Library edition, Brian said he didn’t want to spoil what that means. I believe that Installation 03 will be the Halo Cortana has and we will revisit it in Halo 6.
What is the next 72 hours? I haven’t heard of this? We can at least rule out 4 (Duh), 5, and 7 as these currently have human presences.
EDIT:
Sorry its been a while since i read escalation
03 has an asteroid belt though doesnt it? Or was it move?

The Next 72 Hours is the story arc that pics up right where Halo 4 left off and tells the story of Chief’s second battle with the Ur-Didact.

Carillon sent the Installation into splispace away from it original location.
I don’t think it’s Installation 03, I was reading up from somewhere and all signs were pointing towards Installation 07. Not too sure thought, but it would be cool to revisit Installation 03, as well as the other 6 rings.

I don’t think it is installation 7. Hunters in the dark confirms the presence of Humans there, as well as five.

As long as it’s not a ridiculous Installation 08 so add whatever they want to it, I could care less.
I don’t see why a human presence on or around the ring is problematic… Cortana could’ve recruited the AIs maintaining the UNSC facilities and orbital stations into her newly created Created faction. (can’t phrase it differently lol)
There were also signs that the Created may have some presence on Installation 05. Pegasus and Orion were multiplayer maps depicting mysterious structures that had arisen on the Halo’s surface, and Spartan-IVs had to train there before being sent on the ring to investigate. There was also a Sentinel threat I think.
It was never confirmed, but maybe Cortana managed to awake Forerunner constructs on Delta Halo too. However I have to say that there’s a rocky planet in the legendary cutscene, so it can’t be Substance, the blue gas giant. Can’t be 05.
To be honest, this could be almost any Halo ring except 04.

A second battle with Ur-Didact, huh? Isn’t that something that’s kind of important? And therefore shouldn’t be relegated to second-status as a comic? Shouldn’t that have been the logical next step of the main series? But, no, anyone who doesn’t read the comics and novels therefore don’t learn that stuff, unless if they look it up on the wiki or Waypoint (which also is a really lame way of learning about important information to a series). And then they resurrect Cortana, make her a psychotic villain, and bring in a new conflict out of the blue (the Created), all with very cheesy explanations. I keep getting more and more frustrated with what 343i has been doing to the series.

343 is basically steamrolling the series to the point it fails. Plot loop holes, stories missing, characters popping out of no where. the way things are going i wouldnt be suprised if the UR-Didact makes an appearance in Halo 6
Here’s a question…
Would anyone be the SLIGHTEST bit surprised, if the Legendary ending came to mean precisely nothing in H6? If a Halo ring doesn’t even appear in it?
I hope I’m wrong. I’d love to visit a Halo again. And you’d certainly THINK they wouldn’t put that ending in there for no reason, without having a plan for it. But would anyone really be surprised?? Given that it’s cool now to open plot threads and then either terminate them offscreen or just forget about them altogether because we decided to completely change course…

Sadly, not really. This is why I’m glad I only have up to Halo 4 on my 360.
Static Carillion had to repair 03 right? That would explain the Halo powering up again.
The real questions is, Why are we seeing another Halo in the first place? As far as I can tell, a Halo ring activating wouldn’t make sense unless there’s something on that ring like the Composer in Halo 4 that Tillson was studying.

Well, Cortana could either use the ring itself as another weapon to help enforce her not-at-all-evil rule, or more intriguing, she could be planning to release the Flood on board for some unknown reason… again, assuming of course they actually follow through with making something of the ring’s appearance in the next game at all.

Yeah. I also thought of something similar to what the Didact did in Halo 4. He went to one of the rings (Installation 03 I think) but didn’t actually want to use the ring, just take something he wanted from it. I can see it happening both ways.
