At the end of the Halo 5 legendary ending there is a halo ring orbiting a planet, and Cortana is humming in a crazy monitor was just like 343 Guilty Spark is. However, while she is humming the Halo rings blue light on the outside are lite up and a strange sound comes out. Maybe Cortana is implying to use the Halo ring, but was striking is that it looks like it being turned on. As though it is new and there is something about this Halo ring that is different from all the other ones, and she is going to use it to complete her mission of bring peace across the galaxy.

Cortana said something along the lines of those who surrender will be saved, this could imply she’s willing to place them on shield worlds and activate the rings, the ‘created’ not being a living organism and thus being immune. Remember, she still holds the index of installation 4. If this is the end of Master Chief I hope it ends as it begins; Chief, alongside Cortana, and the index, in the control room destroying a ring.
