It’s kinda sad, up until Halo 5 players always unlocked something for beating the game on Legendary (excluding CE & 2, which didn’t have any unlockable customizations).

Well you still some pride from doing it and the gamer score for it. I still like getting achievements for score regardless of award. Although they should have given something as past Halo’s have done.

You get an added scene after the credits, but I won’t say what it is in case you haven’t seen it yet.

“Pride”
Isn’t that the same thing that EA said about Loot Boxes?

Gamer Score is kinda pathetic too. It doesn’t really mean much.

> You get an added scene after the credits, but I won’t say what it is in case you haven’t seen it yet.

Yes, an award that any warrior would love to have after losing their sanity to a horrible story and terrible gameplay.
They could have at least made that scene mean something, but unless you analyze it to death, it won’t mean anything.

Yes some of use weren’t raised in the everyone deserves a trophy generation so yeah we get a sense of pride of accomplishing something even if we don’t get rewarded. While gamer score don’t mean much to some there are some of us who take pride in our scores.

Yeah, and I hate that mentality too.
But the acheivements are largely useless, as they’re very rarely indicative of skill.
As a form of pride, I wouldn’t say I feel the same way. I feel more pride from games based on my actions, like when I randomly threw two plasmas and stuck both a Banshee and a Ghost.
Made one of the two drivers very angry too, by the way.

An odd accusation to make given folks don’t want a reward for nothing; instead they want one for actually completing the game on Legendary. It’s further odd since 343 has embraced an “everybody gets a trophy” mindset ever since they put things like Helioskril in the REQ pool. Don’t worry, you don’t have to actually work for that armor, you can just randomly get it in a pack.

I was referring to the pride comment. It seems some dont want to do stuff if there isn’t some sort of award for it.

For the most part I don’t think it’s unreasonable, especially if previous games did it. Only reason I don’t think Legendary unlocks are a thing in Halo 5 is because there is no way to get money from it.

I disagree because there is quite a bit of things that weren’t in H5 that were in previous games.

I fail to see how that prevents 343 from keeping a visor, armor set, emblem or the like as a reward for beating the game on Legendary.

Mark 6 Mod with Chief’s visor and Hunter Special Ops (includes blue “veins” that change based on armor color choice) with Locke’s visor (now that Locke controllers are pretty much out of stock now)
Boom. Now I have a reason to actually play Halo 5.

The same thing that prevented them from having anything else in the game that should have been there or been there. Just poor development and taking the easy road for the game.

Don’t worry, you don’t have to actually work for that armor, you can just randomly get it in a pack.

But we can’t use that as an excuse every time we consider Halo 5’s lack of in game rewards. There’s only one free armor you can actually earn. The rest of the free armors live in MCC.
It doesn’t seem that hard to put in armor as a reward for Legendary completion, especially when they added armor left and right after Halo 5’s release.

Yeah an we can’t use “oh the req system” as an excuse everytime there is something missing and/or not liked about H5. Most issues with H5 is simply bad development. 343 has a track record of it in all their Halo games. Halo CE anniversary, while the campaign remaster was good they choose to pretty much not touch the multiplayer and just added CE style maps to Reach. H4 aka Halo with some COD style stuff. We don’t need to go down the road of what happened to MCC. Then we got H5. Don’t get me wrong I still enjoyed the games but let’s not act as if H5 is the first to be missing stuff or not have some features other Halo games had.

The problems with Halo 5 extended far beyond just the REQ system, as bad as it is.
As for the CEA thing, I have a feeling it was because they didn’t want to segregate players between CE MP and the rather recently released Reach MP. That, or MS springed the idea of a remaster on them, and they did what they could.

I think that 343 missing features on release just shows off their general incompetence, and maybe, just maybe, they’re the wrong group of devs for Halo games.
Or, MS is pushing them way too hard, and gives them too broad instructions for the games they should develop.
Still think it’s the former though.

Missing an unlock able item for the guys who complete the Halo 5 legendary campaign
Is disappointing.
But it fits right in with the whole req thing because you can’t have people unlocking things with out buying your req packs :anguished:
