The numbers are in. Halo 5 has made 400 million dollars in its first week! In comparison, halo 4 made 300 million in its first week. And it’s also important to note that when halo 4 came out, Xbox 360 sales were around 80 million. For halo 5’s release, Xbox one sales were around the 15 million. What do you guys think about this? Do you think things are looking up for the franchise? Below is the link.
It said 400m from software AND HARDWARE.
Nothing was ever said about individual copies. It was only in monetary value. And didn’t Microsoft do the same when announcing halo 4 sales?
Couldn’t really care about launch date/week money.
I care more about- can I play this game in 2 years like I used to.

This so much this, I mean it’s great that for the time being we have a large player pool the job now is to keep those players. It’s all well and good having a great drop but we don’t want to have another population drop like Halo 4 had.
I also understand that most people do not think that this game was going to sell very well. My question to them is: what led you guys to believe this?
Now we just have to see how halo 5 will do against COD, BF 3, and fallout 4

I don’t know why they didn’t think it would sell well. I know the Xbox One is not the most popular console ever, but there are at least 13 million of them out there, which is more than enough to make this the best selling Halo. So saying “Halo 5 won’t sell well because Xbox One hasn’t sold well” isn’t a valid argument on their part.
I think what would be a valid argument would be “people were upset about MCC” so they might not get Halo 5. That’s understandable. But I don’t think enough people would be that upset to miss out on a proper main title game.
“Halo 4’s matchmaking failed” isn’t a good argument either because we’ve had the Halo 5 beta and we knew this game would be a return to true form.
So, I’m right there with you man, I don’t know why these people thought this game wouldn’t sell well.
