Recently, I’ve been watching some RvB and I tried to recreate their armours in Halo 5 and it’s such a pain.
I can’t customise the shoulders or legs, all I can do is grab 2 ugly armour pieces, and combine them.
343, why can’t you just copy the same armour customisation system from Halo 4?
I understand that there are lots of different helmets and body pieces, but what I’m trying to say is that we can’t go deeper into customisation with legs etc.
I agree. If 343 get their heads out their -Yoink- with these horrible armors. (Legionnaire and others) we could have HALO REACH level Armor customization.

I’d rather have Halo 4 level customization. I don’t want a single set with a ton of attachments, I’d rather swap individual armor pieces out with eachother… with attachments on said individual pieces. So a mixture of Reach and 4 actually.
We got a much better color pallet to customize with. If we push and continue to post that we want much more unique armor customization, I believe 343 will deliver. Because there is zero reasons for any one to not want more added to the game. 343 can still keep the armor sets but allow the armor to be fitted with different pieces of other armor.

There was zero reason to remove it yet they did. 343 does this stupid stuff all the time. They remove or completely crap on something that was so simple and so well done in previous games and then wonder why people get pissed (customs, forge, file share, etc)

I heard it had something to do with Warzone and the Xbone not being able to handle that many custom armor peices AND everything going on.
If the choice is between the now farmtastic and hair-pullingly frustrating Warzone and letting my Spartan look he way I want him too (uneven shoulder pads and all), I’l take armor.
They could do something about this I saw that the armor has individual pieces when examining the armor…but I kind of do not mind have a helmet and body armor even though the idea of that is pretty -Yoinking!- stupid being there real variation between the armor pieces being that the helmet and the armor pieces were built specifically to be worn together…So in reality we might as well just unlock the whole suit in reqs not just 2 pieces it’s a waste of time…that would leave room for more armor as well…I am looking right now and I got the shinobi armor months ago and I still don’t have the helmet. This game seemingly has a lot of missing/unfinished content…But to end I will say that they could divide the armor up but * shrugs * that would be kind of dumb…I do not prefer to mismatch armor pieces to me it looks tacky and makes me cringe that the pieces do not fit together well but in some cases I guess it works…For instance the Goblin armor looks good with other helmets…But I would prefer if I got the helmet and the body in the same pack but I guess it would ruin the RNG…But I still believe that there should more reqs in reality more maps and environment everything seems like it could be better improved or added to…Definitely needs more environments MAPS because it’s a great game but more maps creative maps and better UI needs to take notes from previous halo titles…and the blood splats need to comeback from previous HALO titles…and just a few darker maps…and a file browser…More places to use the req system…a way to use your spartan in campaign with the req system for LASO difficulty etc…Just saying…These are really good ideas in my book…

Makes no sense, if the mass thinks the armour sucks, how would it make money when if they did what reach did (where the mass liked it),that way would make more money. If I’m a business, and if I “had” to charge for armor, I’d use the system the mass likes rather than reused stuff that the mass don’t like as it makes more money. So I don’t think money is the issue, I’d say whomever is in charge of armor design just has a different view of what to do.
To OP: I’m not so big on custimization being how it’s a fps but I guess for machinimas and such I can see why extra custimization would be important.

Agreed. Why can’t we mix and match with how it worked before?

Truth.
This doesn’t bother me.
What DOES bother me about the armor in this game is that the vast majority of them are this weird stupid ugly stuff and only a handful of them look normal. Plus, the secondary color patterns/skins almost never match the aesthetics of the armor and seem randomly plastered on.
I think if we push hard enough we can get 343i to change it.

I like the optimism, but they already designed the game around this kind of armor customization even though a lot of it is recycled from Halo 4 and previous games so breaking it up shouldn’t be too hard.
Then again 343 also ignored a 250+ page thread to bring back elites and I’m not thrilled with the way they’ve handled the license so I don’t have any faith left in 343. If anything it would be Halo 6.

343 is bringing elites back for halo 6 along with splitscreen dude

That’s better.
It was a decision they made about the game. It’s not going to change. We can make noise and tell 343 we we want further customization options for Halo 6, but saying all the armor is bad and stupid is not going to get their attention. I’m blown away by the number of armors in Halo 5. There is something for everyone.

So you want to combine a greater number of even uglier armor pieces? Hard pass.
I’ve seen the combinations people came up with, we aren’t missing anything. I’m very pleased 343 has come to this system, much better on the eyes.

Well they ignored it for Halo 5 until people blasted them for the one millionth time. Also do you have proof of this?
