I have no had over 6+ hours now with Halo 5 (I was part of early access) and I was surprised by how much I like it overall. The gameplay itself is pretty fun and it still does feel like Halo to me. I’ve been a fan of the series since the Halo CE demo was around and at first I thought the introduction of “Spartan Abilities” were a terrible idea. After getting time with them, the movement feels really good.
I do have some similar concerns as many do on the rest of the forums, but the one thing that has been bothering me the most at this point is the kill times. Halo 5 is being advertised as a fast passed game which it accomplishes. In my opinion, the kill times are way to fast, there are times I feel like I don’t even have shields. I feel like in previous titles if you were to be attacked by an enemy player and you were skilled, you could maneuver your way out of a difficult situation before being killed. While that is still possible, it just feels a little bit too fast to me.
Anyone else in the same boat?
Also does anyone else know the kill times for the previous Halos and this beta? The information would be greatly appreciated.
The kill times are fast, but I have found that with the thruster I’m able to take hits and escape if I’m smart enough about it. I don’t really feel like I died without a chance to escape or fight back.

Thrusters definitely help the process, it just feels to fast to me. I’ve been playing a lot of Halo 2/3 in the MCC and the comparison between the AR in those games vs now is just crazy fast.
I agree that they do feel relatively quick. I have played a whopping 4 games so far and am still getting used to the controls, but yes I would love to see them bumped up some.
Also, it is worth noting that I am frequently being double-teamed, and it is possible that the AR has a little too much juice. I need to play more to take an educated stance.

The most natural control scheme in my opinion is the Halo 4 control scheme. I guess I’ve just gotten use to melee on RB and I’d much rather not have zoom on left trigger. IMO AR is way too beefy at the moment.
BR is 4sk, isn’t it? I really don’t feel killtimes with this particular weapon are faster than in Halo2. All the other weapons feel more powerful than how they were in past, but it’s only because they’re actually useful against BR. That’s awesome because I had enough of 1-weapon game.
If they had to make slower killtimes, they would had to slow it for all the weapons. So… am I the only one who remembers all these discussions how BR cannot be 5sk in Halo 4? Clearly 343i remembers that…
