So I wanted to load up Halo 5 again and noticed after 5 minutes the black screen still never cut to any logos or menu scenes. I’ve tried quitting and reopening. I’ve tried turning the Xbox off and on again. I’ve tried taking the disc out and putting it back in. Switching games and going back. Uninstalling and reinstalling. I’ve even tried cleaning and checking the disc to finding no scratches. Despite all my efforts, it always starts with the cover art and then fades into an endless black screen. I don’t know if anyone else is going through this and if so, please let me know what to do because I still have plans and things I want to do in this game, but unlike Halo 3 or Reach, I don’t know if I want to buy it again.
You mentioned turning it off and on again. Did you hold down the power button for a few seconds when turning it off? If not, try doing that since that will do a hard reset. It might fix your issue. Also, check if your power options are set to Instant On. Try switching to Energy Saver.
