It really is the best shooter in the last 5 years. The only thing I think they can improve on for 6 is getting back the halo 4 writing staff. The game is just so responsive and intuitive. The spartans feel powerful but there is a skill gap. It looks like the original breakout is returning too so that is a good thing. My first halo game was halo 2 but halo never really captured the depth from the Eric Nylund novels until 343 made halo 4. Halo 5 just took that universe immersion further with the HUB areas. I hope those return so we can explore.

At the very least it continued to get better after launch which really highlights how well 343 has done supporting the game. They are overly transparent and need to ignore fans sometimes. Other devs like valve tell fans to yoink off. Sometimes the creative process should not be distorted by fan feedback. I would agree that halo 5 is improving at a slower pace but the Purist crowd just got their classic playlist so YAY FOR THEM.
The servers have been put under more pressure. You probably didn’t see that last week the req system went down. That is something which hasn’t got better with time.
“the best shooter” is kind of a matter of opinion. I mean, it’s my personal favorite shooter, I’ve definitely dumped more time into it than every other modern FPS combined.
Be prepared for the “Halo 5 isn’t Halo” posts though. People really love those.
As a player since CE’s launch, I will say the responsiveness and fluidity of the controls and combat are fantastic, and in my humble opinion are unrivaled by any other modern shooter. It still has a unique “Halo” feel to it, and is why I keep coming back. I do agree that the writing staff definitely needs to do better in H6, other than that, yeah, H5 is pretty great my man.
