I was wondering if it was still possible to add Kats Robot arm for Halo Reach in any future updates for Halo 5 Guardians? And if by any chance a 343 employee reads this please make the Robot arm an option or achievement, not an obtainable req, so you make it appear on any armour set (If Possible)
Firstly I’d like to say the idea of making some armors/pieces only attainable from certain prerequisites is something I really miss and would appreciate a lot (H3 baby <3). Now as for whether or not 343 will make the robot arm in H5, they won’t. I’m sure it’s possible, but it’s not practical. The Reach stuff was a while back and releasing a robotic arm now would just feel awkward. I hope to see it in H6, but we’ll see.
It would feel totally out of place in halo 5 to have just one metal arm . It’s a avenue that the story’s could develop and one I thought they might after reach , with all the technology then bionic limbs of all descriptions would be a possibility. Not just limbs either the possibility of improving the human brain roboticly is a reality. There has been devices successfully implemented into the human brain with todays medicine which help change mood ( I believe a woman was the first ever patient to recieve such a device into the brain to help her with crippling depression which was as I understand a complete success . ) In reality war always pushes technology and medicine along , more then any other periods of human history . So why not have soldiers with robotic eye sight , increased memorys , inbuilt computer interfaces etc etc . The possibility is endless and beyond my imagination. But could be easily introduced into a sci fi game
When chief is talked about being robotic I have wondered if he’s undergone any modifications of this nature ( being the super soldier he is ) making him almost lose his humanity because he’s become almost something else ( not quite human and not quite a robot ) with only cortana there to remind him of this humanity. While she searches for her own humanity ( which has come with her longevity and immense knowledge making her a sentient being ( I think therefore I am ) this helps to remind chief of his diminishing human nature with the emotion love being the last remaining part. This love being reciprocated as both characters are striving to become more human together . Another franchise that had this theme was a ghost in the shell. Major kusanagi has undergone so many augmentations that she doesn’t recognise herself leading her to wonder about the very essence of what makes you human ? What’s constitutes as a soul ? Ultimately what am I ? So with chief and cortana both experiencing this and the nature of war , the technology possibilitys I believe they could add more robotic themes and if done correctly could be refreshing. Halo ce was filled with references from sci fi films such as aliens . So references from films such as ghost in the shell , blade runner , robocop etc are not out of the realms of possibility .

It’s not like Kat’s robotic arm was an enhancement or something. Her arm was blown off by a fuel rod blast from a Banshee. As for expanding into mechanical limb augmentations, et cetera, I hope they don’t. Also, Chief’s only mechanical augmentation is his Spartan neural interface. The rest are biological augmentations
This is a great idea. It was a great part of Reach, and I would like ti see it return.
That would require more effort than 343 is willing to expend.
Anyway, I don’t see it coming. Halo 5 is dead in terms of major updates. Would be nice though.
