I’ve been trying to look at the positive aspects of Halo 5 like its music, some armor that looks cool, massive amounts of updates, and forge. However the mass amounts of sheer stupid and questionable choices made is just infuriating:
They took away the emotional weight and interesting state of mind chief was left in at the end of Halo 4
They killed Jul Mdama way too early and made him look like an incompetent fool.
The covenant are shown as sluggish and buffoon enemies to fight. Just look at each Spartan team first mission cutscenes.
Chief is only playable for 20% of the game.
None of the new characters were interesting or held any importance to the plot. With the exception of exuberant witness…that’s it.
All returning characters were just fan service or had little character depth to them.
Cortana returning as the villain for random reason and being a villain in general just makes no sense and disgraces cortanas character.
The warden eternal was boring and just served as a repetitive boss fight that happened too many times.
The story never explained why some new characters were involved or how they got involved with their starting mission. How did she go from being hurt by the loss of Cortana and questioning his life, to randomly going on missions with blue team. Who never had any importance to the story anyways. Didact was taken from relevance in the comics.
Why Chief went A-wall was boring as hell.
The tension between chief and Locke from the ads was not at all present in the campaign.
The action scenes were sluggish and poorly choreographed. The game made chief look mediocre at hand to hand combat.
The game fails to explain so many things.
Trying to replace a character we care about (chief) only because we care about him in past games. With a guy who’s a cardboard cut out of a character who only follows orders and we know very little about( Locke)
The co-op AI were incompetent as hell.
There was no split screen.
This is the first campaign that is absolute crap and cripples my faith in 344. I’d rather have no more Halo if they are like this piece of crap campaign.

It’s not opinion it’s fact. I’m just sorry you have low quality taste and expect little of Halo. If you’d love more Indepth examples I’d love to show you why you’re wrong.

Not really. I agree that Halo 5 has the worst campaign of all Halo games, but that doesn’t make everything you’ve said a fact. As far as I’m concerned, people can think the campaign was good, but I’m always going to disagree with those people.

Son, you need to spend a few minutes with a dictionary. Particularly you’re going to want to look up the definitions of the words “opinion” and “fact” because you have really got the wrong end of the stick here.
I think Halo 5’s flaws get in the way of it really being good, personal enjoyment notwithstanding. I mean, it has almost no connection with Halo 4 and Spartan Ops, the game that preceded it. That is a pretty serious bungling that any competently told story easily avoids if it is part of a series.

You know, I was going to come in and support you, since I do agree that Halo 5’s campaign is the worst, but I can’t anymore. Having an opinion about something as subjective as liking or disliking a product is fine, and understanding that you’re a part of the majority is nice as well. But telling somebody else that their opinion is wrong and that your opinion is a fact? And then going to say that they have “low quality taste” and “expect little of Halo”? That’s a ridiculously low blow. Refusing to acknowledge and accept that some people have differing opinions, and aren’t inherently bad for having those opinions, shows extreme immaturity on your part. He is very much allowed to love Halo 5’s campaign as much as you and I are allowed to dislike it. Even if his opinion doesn’t fit the majority’s, that doesn’t make it any less valid than yours.
If you’re going to create a thread about anything, you should be willing to accept the multiple perspectives of people who are going to reply in it. Especially if those people are respectful to you. There’s nothing good that can come out of blatantly telling others that their opinion is wrong and belittling them for it.

Granted some of these are opinions, but most are facts. They don’t explain or go in depth on essential elements of the story, guardians for example. That’s fact. The completely disregarded the previous campaigns story, which is horrid story telling…yet again another fact. I don’t need your backing. Plenty of people know that the campaign is s$&@ and is the worst in the series! Regardless of whether or not you enjoyed it.

clashes with established lore - bland, 1 dimensional characters - hit and miss mission quality - Those poor brutes, what did you do to them - poorly manufacture tension - I’m going to show a cutscene of this awesome battle you don’t get to take part in. (put it in the trailer too) - Those poor elites, what happened to their faces - friendly AI are easily dumber then the Halo 5 AI, especially Jun who is as likely to shoot you as an enemy and Emile who might hit something if he figured out how to use a CQC weapon - pointless deaths - The poor AR, what did they do to you

I think the campaign was the worst halo campaign but I wouldn’t say it is like one of the worst campaigns ever because there is still some fun to be had with it.

Im saying it is the worst campaign in Halo. Doesnt live up to the quality of the others. The game can be fun when fighting enemies.
