This is not the same topic as he recent one about not being able to binge play the game or the same topic as those about not being able to have fun. This topic is about the negative feelings I get from Halo 5 that literally no other game has ever given me
Whenever I have a bad match in a multiplayer game, unless it’s like the 10th one in a row I can usually just take the loss and move on to the next match, but not with this game. Halo 5 is the only game I’ve ever played where losing and bad matches aren’t just not enjoyable, they actually discourage me from even wanting to play anymore. Whenever I’m not doing good in a match and I’m at the bottom of the team or the whole lobby, I feel like I’m not contributing to the team and therefore not worth much to my teammates. I also get the same feeling too when I’m in a Slayer match and everyone on the team has double digit kills and I have like 7 or 8. Whenever I lose a match, I find it very difficult to just take the loss. Losses in Halo 5 get to me more than losses in any other game, to the point where I start to question why I’m even trying at that point
Like I said, no other game out there makes me feel as bad as Halo 5 does when I’m not doing good or winning. I can go like 14-10 in a CoD match, which isn’t very good for me, and just be like “that match sucked, oh well” and I’ll move on. I can get only a couple of kills, or even go negative, in a round of Smite and be alright with it. In any past Halo title, I can take any losses or bad games and move on. With Halo 5, after a few bad matches and losses, I feel ready to give up on the game and never touch it again
Maybe it’s because your deaths are shown on the in-game scoreboard so you are constantly reminded how bad you’re doing? Maybe it’s because of how competitive Halo 5 is? I don’t really know why it affects me so much in this game compared to any other game I’ve ever played, but I know it sucks all possible enjoyment out of the game and completely turns me off to the game, even if I’m really wanting to play it at that moment
Has anyone else had this same experience, or a similar one, with Halo 5? Does not doing well in this game make you feel different than when you don’t do well in another game?
I don’t know anything about Smite, but in CoD, it’s a little easier to carry a low-performing teammate, whereas in Halo, everyone needs to pull their weight. So of course it’s going to feel a little bit worse when you yourself are the under-performer.
Also, due to the smaller team sizes, it’s harder to hide yourself with the other bad players. You really stick out in Halo when you have a bad game.
I’ve always found this to be the case with Halo, and less so with other games. It’s just how it is, IMO.
It also doesn’t help that your service record can easily be seen by anyone on your team. So when you start loosing games, your win/loss ratio drops, and you KNOW that everyone can see it and laugh at you for being bad.
And of course as stated above; its really hard to pull a team when more than one person absolutely sucks. If they start feeding the enemy there’s really not much you can do.
Yeah it happens to us all. Sometimes we just have those losing streaks that make us want to rip our hair out. I find it best to just set the game down and come back in a couple of days or so.
Halo 5’s MP can sometimes get too competitive even in social playlists. Some people are heading to social playlists just to buff their overall K/D or W/L ratio and there’ll be times where solos have to deal with a 4-12 man fireteam giving little to no chances for solos to have a fair match. My best suggestion for anyone whose having a huge losing streak is to put the game down for a few days until the stress in you wears off.
I know what you mean: In warzone I have a losing record on every map except one. In slayer I do a bit better but since it’s based on w/l’s and not skill, other factors greatly influence your rank. This profile is strictly solo playing.
I don’t know why but I really struggle to do well during a “stat-pad” match(as in, the players on my team are much better than the ones on the enemy team).
I’ll go something like 14/12, I can’t understand how that happens.
Also, does anyone else have the bad habit of checking the scoreboard “every” time you die?

Try playing with some friends perhaps its alot more enjoyable when you and some friends are just goofing around, you are ALWAYS going to have off games its definitely like kicked when your down seeing an under preforming match (or maybe you just arent incredible) but try to focus on important things such as ways to improve and avoid the occational angry letter tryhard teammates may send (presuming they lost due to you) or whatever the case may be, hell toss me a friend request if you want and ill play some games with ya (I’m pretty good dispite my KDR due to the fact this is the only halo game i’ve played and this being my only account I’ve played on #NoSmurfs) Moral of the story being dont get de-motivated due to a bad match result or angry children online, hell the can go back to hello kitty online.
Try some firefight, or tegular warzone and experiment with weapons and tactis, sometimes thats fun and uplifting. Dont go for the win, go for relaxing enjoyment. You can also try customs, or just simply playing a different game until you forget about being mad at halo. Some of my friends switch to battlefeild of smite for a bit anf then back to halo for a warm up game, then try to get serious and win.
It dosnt help that this game is uber competive and shows you loosing when the game is over. But hey, we all have our good and bad days. I had a bad streak once, followed by halo 5 crap sever problems. That week i thought i was gona go insane.
