Halo 5 is so good it ruined my relationship

So as many of you have already discovered, Halo 5 has delivered some of the best mulitplayer to be found on consoles in the past decade, and I’ve been addicted to it. I haven’t felt this way about a game this entire decade, so I’ve been playing it nonstop. Got over 3 days of gameplay logged and it’s only been out for a week. So my girlfriend of nearly two years wasn’t particularly pleased that I was spending so much time behind the controller, but I couldn’t help but keep playing it. Halloween night I called Halo the love of my life, and she didn’t find that as humorous as I intended. We got in a fight about it, and she dumped me last night cuz she couldn’t handle competing with Halo for my love. Now I didn’t actually consider Halo 5 the love of my life, but I’ve got to say that it’s so damn good, it barely bothers me that I’m single now. Simply have more time to climb to Onyx in Swat. I’d love to hear if anybody else has found themselves recently separated due to this masterpiece of a game.

u wot? is this srs?

Different strokes for Different folks. Clearly she wanted to date an alpha male, not a beta grinding to onyx

If she wasn’t into gaming and you are, then she clearly wasn’t the right girl for you. Now you can look for a gaming girlfriend that will actually play games with you.

Thanks pal, that’s how I feel about it. I’m not hurt because gaming is a core piece of who I am, and someone that can’t truly respect that isn’t the girl for me.

Lololol this is mad funny. Being in Diamond isn’t bad though right? I thought I’ve been pretty Alpha in this game so far

Im married, My wife didnt like it either that didnt talk as much or touch her ever since the game came out,
One night i decide the get drunk and play halo with some friends, she acting mad and moody, we got into a fight which killed my vibe and I poured my rum out just for the sake of not to get more drunk. After shes done being moody I kissed her, she said “thats all i wanted”… I said “ok”, I continued to play more halo 5.

Women are annoying anyway don’t trip bro. XD

I gotta say man, good riddance. You need a girl with a sense of humor. If she couldn’t get a joke like that or understand that the launch of a new Halo game was something important to you, and allow you a few days to enjoy the game, then you’re better off. That goes both ways, of course. I’m sure you allowed her time to enjoy things she likes and tolerated her tongue-in-cheek jokes at your expense (if she made them) … it’s part of a relationship.

I don’t think you’re at fault here. Besides, Halo 5 is pretty great.

My wife has had previous partners that have squandered excessive amounts of their shared income on video-games. It took a while for her to see that I wasn’t the same. She’s not a gamer; she never will be, but she accepts that I am and understands when I tell her that “I need to shoot something in the face”. I guess I’m lucky. On the flip side the games never come before my duties as a breadwinner or father. It’s all about balance.

This is a game…

and you let that ruin your relationship…

thats sad, you need to sort your self out tbh.

I understand where you are coming from, if she can’t understand that this is a big deal to you maybe there where some other problems there as well. If something popped up in her life that was as big a deal as Halo is to you, you would support her passion wouldn’t you?

Forreal. In the end its just a game. This is coming from a die hard Halo fan in a 4 year relationship with my girlfriend.

If the game was all it took, It was doomed anyway.

Don’t bring this rubbish from other forums here :[

Obvious troll is obvious.

Trust me when I say the relationship had other problems past Halo. Obviously this is a flashy piece that doesn’t tell the whole story. And while it is a game, it’s a part of my lifestyle and who I have become. At the end of the day, my passion for gaming exceeded the passion I had left for my ex. Do I have things to work on as a person? Sure. Would I call this sad? Not really at all.

Actually not a troll bro, this is 100% serious stuff. Just looking to share my experience with the game on the forums

Anyone who uses these terms are betas themselves in real life. Stop trolling on your recruit account… Get banned on your main?

On topic yes I can see that being a problem… I’m married but it is hard to balance game time with home time when you work all day and want to play

What’s wrong with you ? Breaking up over a stupid game ? Get your priorities straight.
Life is bigger than this.
