Halo 5 is not lacking game modes

I never understand people saying Halo 5 lacks game modes a lot. It is just decent comparing to other games. At launch, there was 8 game modes, which is decent. It looked less, because Strongholds and Capture the Flag did not have their own playlist and still. I think they should have their own like Slayer. Right now, 11 game modes are playable. There will be Infection and Firefight for sure and there could be more (expecting Warzone variant). There are people still saying it lacks game mode but it is not. More importantly, Halo offers Forge and Custom Game, which other games don’t except for few. This is big part of thing. Players can make their own map and adjusted game mode. If Halo 5 had public share and private server, it would have been great. The only thing I think Halo 5 lacks is number of Warzone maps and forge blocks. Forge blocks are not satisfying, there should be UNSC (not plain blocks we have, metals), Covenant, Forerunner blocks. Theses are the demanded contents. Plain is just… However, Halo 5 is not lacking game modes, never lacked from launch.

No, just No… If you had played a halo on xbox 360 or xbox you would know that halo 5 is lacking. If you had played halo before 4 you would know how good it used to be.

MCC doesn’t count.

multi team (EDIT: 3 months later, finally back, happy times), oddball(officially), king of the hill(officially), mlg playlist(never really cared for this one), big team assault (still don’t understand why there is no btb assault yet) are still missing.

Then explain how these are not in the game

KOTH
Oddball
Infection
Firefight
Team KOTH
Team classics
Multi team
One bomb assault
One flag ctf
Action sack
Rumble pit
Shotty snipers
Swords
Team rockets ( technically )
Blarg ball
Race
MLG
Doubles ( technically )
Juggernaut
VIP
Invasion
Head hunters
And possibly more

I really miss Koth.

Game modes, ok I can kinda agree with. Although infection should have been available at launch, but how do you explain this asinine playlist situation? There’s absolutely no reason for there not be more playlists.

one flag, doubles, koth, oddball, territories, swat objectives, snipers, multi team, one bomb, multi bomb, infection, invasion, clan matches should be available, neutral flag, extraction, vip, ricochet, action sack, ect., ect., ect.

Someone show him a pic of the halo 3 or reach menu

There’s a difference between game types and game modes. Halo 5 has plenty of game types, most of the traditional halo ones with the exemption of strongholds being revamped territories, but what it lacks are game modes. Different versions of different game types. Slayer is a game type, SWAT is Slayer gamemode. Halo lacks game modes. And forge is only useful if the game modes for it exist. Different slayer maps are cool and all but what about an infection map with overturned cars that are burning and sparks and flickering lights and there’s green fog everywhere. That sounds infinitely times cooler than a Pit remake in Halo 5. People can only play slayer and strongholds for so long before it gets boring.

Warzone is lacking maps

SWAT, Snipers, Shotty Snipers, FFA, etc are all Slayer variants and should not be listed as separate modes.
Halo 3 and Reach didn’t need to separately list all their Slayer variants to buff/fill out their lists of modes.

Scroll down and open up the Playlist and Game mode lists. It will give you an idea of what Halo use to have and what Halo 5 is still missing.

When you have a smaller number of Game types in a smaller number of Playlists you really get to a point where you alienate players of certain modes and risk fatigue setting in for everybody else.

You’re joking, right?

Are you kidding me, TC? Compare Halo 5 to other Halos and you will see that the game lack both gamemodes and content. Christ.

Most of Halo 5s game modes are just slayer variants that we could make in customs since launch. At launch Halo 5 only had Slayer, CTF, Strongholds, Warzone, Warzone assault and Breakout if we are being generous.

Since launch the only non slayer game modes we got were Grifball which was only recently fixed and Assault, and that was only after months of complaining to 343.

OP, I’m a big fan of Halo 5 but I don’t know how you can say it didn’t lack game modes. KOTH, Oddball, Rumble Pit, Infection and Assault should ALL have been in at launch.

Shotty Snipers is in the game. Rumble pit is free for all. Blarg ball, we don’t have elites.

5 months later we still don’t have any BR start option, no Snipers, no Doubles, no true “social” experience, no Oddball, no KOTH, no good new maps.

The management of this game is pathetic. The only people who play it are the Warzone trolls. It is absolutely miserable to play solo, and for the first time in 15 years I have ZERO desire to play Halo which is just sad.

Even the pros play other games all the time, this never happened in H3. If it wasn’t for this tournament coming up, none of them would be playing.

So much wasted potential.

Infection, KOTH are the two big ones I want back. Firefight is coming thankfully

Fatigue has already set in for me. It’s why I’m back to playing CS:GO, because Halo 5 doesn’t have enough content for me.
