So I’m about a high platinum low diamond player, not the best and not terrible either. Most of the time I am solo queueing and if I am playing with friends they are usually low plat to mid gold players, which I don’t mind. Now lately ive been playing a bit more casually and I thought that the social “game day” slayer would be a good place to kick back, relax and just play some slower paced social combat. It wasn’t, I got matched against fireteams of 3-5 EVERY SINGLE GAME, I asked after every game and they would say “yeah we came to pub stomp.” every. damn. game. Whatever ill just play some team arena, I’m plat 5-6 in that solo queueing. almost every game if played since game day in team arena ive had gold players on my team and diamonds to onyx on the other, whatever ok that’s how secret of matchmaking wants to do it then I guess I have to deal with it. but every game theres at least a team of 2 on the other team and one of my players leaves every single game when we don’t get like the first 3 kills. now I understand that I should be expected to go in with a team of friends at high levels of play but my friends aren’t that good and I don’t want them to feel bad because they have to play against diamonds and onyx and just get stomped every game because they simply cant compete. so I beg of 343 to please P. L. E. A. S. E. add a social playlist that is actually social and not just SBMM without a rank. Halo 5 is becoming too frustrating for me to enjoy and I very frequently find myself going back onto MCC, Destiny and sometimes even BLOPS 3 for something a bit more casual and overall a fun experience. Don’t get me wrong I love this game, a lot, but the way that 343 is funnelling the player base into hyper competitive gameplay is frustrating. I remember back in the beta Epos Vox tweeted Quinn delHoyo asking if we’d see a social playlist and Quinn’s response was along the lines of “Why wouldn’t you want to play ranked.” I know everyone is ranting about what is going to kill Halo thinking it going to be microtransactions. now I’m not going to say that this will kill it but I think a huge focus on fast paced competitive gameplay over fun casual gameplay might hurt the population of the game. Whatever I’m sure every one else will disagree but theres my opinion. see ya later waypoint.
thats what happens when you have a mode with no restrictions, you get placed against people of varying skill and most likely will run into parties. There nothing you can do about that, literally nothing. People play to win even if its not ranked so even a social version of slayer wont make it non competitive
Well the problem is 343 only listened to the “competitive” crowd. I’d rather have a social playlist with a 1-50 not this season crap, JiP, no bans, and I’m on the fence of 4v4 or 5v5. Pretty much make it like how halo 3 social playlist worked, if I recall if you quit to much you’d lose a rank thats all a social playlist needs.
Halo 5 is the most frustrating Halo for me, but not because of people matching together against solo players
It’s also the least fun. Not sure why I play it
