Now that I got your attention, let us know which feature really catches your attention and brings you back to that classic Halo experience that Halo 4 seemed to lack. IMO, 343 got it right this time, with a lot of the weapon varieties, music tracks, character plots and maps/campaign locations reminding me of classic Halo. What do you think?
That soundtrack is fantastic I could listen to it for hours on end and intend to do just that!
Aesthetic and music. All the way. They’ve got to stick to artistic identity Bungie put in place to make it familiar at first glance. (I don’t think Halo 5 is bad BTW. Second best in the series to Halo: CE.)
The music and art style help a lot because it’s always there, but the gameplay and arena specifically feel really good. Exuberant Witness, Buck, the Arbiter, and other things also made me smile and brought a Halo feeling.
I agree, it was nice to see Halo moving back towards its authentic, classic roots. Buck, the Arbiter, the great rendition of the Pistol, and the epic, exotic music take me back to Halo 1, 2, and even ODST.
Oh yeah I forgot the SMG…I love it. It’s a throwback to the ODST suppressed SMG…only better IMO.
The soundtrack in the last Chief mission was something to marvel at- a beautiful mix of old and new themes.

I think they hit it spot-on and made an epic here, but everyone’s got their opinions and all that. What I don’t get is the people who have made it plainly clear they hate every aspect of it but continue to hang out in the Halo 5 forums even after “allegedly” returning their game. If it’s not your style why stick around in the H5 subforms? Stick to the Classic/MCC forums then - H5 isn’t going to magically revert back to the old games by posting in its subform. (It would be nice to have a Classic-themed playlist though, since we can do that via custom settings…)
It’s overall a very solid game. I’m enjoying it and can’t wait to game with some pals this weekend.

I was always big on the awesome scenery in the Halo games. If you stop slaughtering grunts for a bit you can see some really nice views. This game did it justice.
