It took me longer to get used to than the other Halo games, but I must say, I love it.
What I particularly like is AR starts Stronghold. For the first time since Halo 3 the AR is actually a decent weapon, and isn’t just useless against someone with a BR.
Clamber and thrusters add more movement to the game, without the map breaking problems of jet pack.
I have to say, I am having a blast in the Beta.
I also like how there is an xp based Spartan Rank and then a skill based one for each playlist.
The Spartan call outs are actually useful, given that no one talks anymore on microphones.
I don’t really think ADS has changed the game all that much, and I don’t even use it that often.
My criticisms:
Weapon pickup on maps needs to include a picture of the weapon, like in past halo games, or bolder font; it is really hard to see on the purple midship remake.
Also, I don’t like kill cams all that much. I want to see if the other person is messing on, or celebrating if they kill my Spartan.
I luv it to man the thing I don’t like is people keep on criticize the game halo isn’t dieing it just getting better

Yea i dont think halo is dying and waypoint isnt a good representation of its community.
Halo waypoint is a horrible representation of the community that likes Halo 5, because they’re still playing it, not wasting there time complaining about the now balanced sprint. Most people on here will bash just to bash, when ODST came out they screamed “it’s too much like Halo 3! It should have just been DLC.”
That being said, if there is any change they flip their lid at that as well, armor abilities were a new idea meant to replace Halo 3’s equipment, look how that went. When they get exactly what they want, with the Master Chief Collection, albeit a broken launch and several months, they claim it’s nothing more then a cash grab. They whine to whine, and quite frankly are scared of change, which scares game designers away from making INNOVATIVE changes. That’s why you see the mechanics from already used formulas being applied, because the community of any game screams and kicks like children when any real innovative change is applied.
WITHOUT change, you can’t justify making a new game, that’s called repackaging old materials and calling them new. Give 343 some leniency with their changes and they’ll feel safer apply some real innovation to their next title.

Yeah, I mean take CoD for example. While the game attracts huge audiences, and didn’t mix up the formula at all really, it is certainly creatively stale.
But, I think you are a little unfair on the forum. You have to remember that the people who complained about games being too similar may not be the ones who complained about too much change, though I am sure there are some hypocrites who will just complain whatever happens.
Personally, Halo 3 is my favourite game, but I also really liked Halo 4, and I really like Halo 5 too. Reach probably had the most problems (armour lock is one of the most annoying things ever put in a game).

I did generalize there, this is from what I’ve seen from my time on bungie.net to now, there are some that are genuinely upset about one or the other, but a large majority of the forums, and just plain human nature, is hypocritical. I’ve been playing since Combat Evolve’s release and have liked every Halo to date, Halo 4 was rocky at first but it got better with tuning and updates, so I stuck with it. There where fun new game modes like Dominion added, and the game was more responsive then any Halo before it. That being said it was far from perfect, but so was every Halo before it, there is no perfect game, just new concepts and ideas that need to be explored, but no one let’s the industry as a whole explore them.
Just my opinion.
