Halo 5 is getting dry.

Halo 5 needs a content update, desperately. It has been a good few months since the last content drop and for me at least (Someone who cares about getting more and more new things to add to my collection and not level up.) it needs an update. I would even care if it was a small update but anything would be amazing. I have hopes that 343i will announce an update at E3 to drop along the classic playlist. (Unless that drops before, correct me if im wrong.) It would be cool to get some new armour sets to match the helmets we got or since it is the anniversary of Halo 3 bring back some of the helmets and/or armour pieces from that game like like rouge (Please add the CQB armour to match my helmet.) Let me know what you think, I’m always interested in new ideas.

Make CQB Great AGAIN!

They have a double XP weekend going on right now. That will bring people back.

Im talking in terms of content, even though this double XP is nice. Really helping me through the levels!

I think they have one last update in the workings.

I don’t think the content is the problem. Halo 2 and 3 never got old because the core gameplay was so fun. Halo 5 just doesn’t play like a Halo game.

I would have to disagree. Halo 2 and 3 to me were boring as hell because there wasn’t a lot to do other than customs, don’t get me wrong i enjoy them. But Halo 5 was built around content and the fact that most of the content had to be after launch. I just hope they add better customisation options and maybe some more original developer maps.

We just got content really, some BTB maps, skee ball in action sack, ghost in a shell playlist… Turbo, mythic, and warlords is live. Also there is always new stuff in custom game browser.

Well, I guess Halo 5 went dry for me recently. I’m sure there’s still some water in that pond for me and I’m like 4 packs left to finish my gold grind.

If not, I’ll just go back to my not so gaming PC and play some flight simulators.

As much as Halo 5 has pushed the game forward, it lacks the Halo feel of older games. The older Halo games I played non stop until the next Halo goodness dropped, then I would move on. But with Halo 5 I was bored after three months, I think it boils down to the fact that the server connection is pitiful at best, a bare bones playlist from the off and BTB and social playlists are no place to go and have fun any more. This game is uber competitive you just can’t sit back and relax any more. Plus, farmers have moved from warzone to BTB to spawn trap and kill teams all for a piece of armor that in all honesty doesn’t look that good at all. I don’t see it as a symbol of hard work, it’s more like a huge arrow above some one’s head saying Im a farming scum bag.

Not sure if content is enough to get people to come back. There’s way too many bugs in this game to put people off, I have some friends that won’t even touch Halo after what 343i did to it. I guess the double exp helped but to get people playing a bit more then it needs more double exp weekends, to have it become more common.

As much as I would like new content…I don’t think it’s a good idea since it just ends up clogging up the UI with more weapon/vehicles skins, armour and every new ‘content update’ usually seems to break something. At this point H5 has been out for nearly 2 years, it still isn’t complete or fixed so maybe it’s time to focus more on making sure they don’t mess up H6

I do agree with the fact that Halo 5 doesn’t feel like Halo and the fact that there was a lack in content at launch plays a big part in why it got stale and why it is dry

If you need new content every couple of months to get people coming back to your game then your game isn’t very good. A great game should keep you coming back for months and months on end, maybe even years without needing to add new content. Don’t get me wrong. New content is great and I’m not going to complain when I get it but if it’s the only thing that makes me keep coming back I’m just going to move on to a different game to get my fix of something new and fresh.

H5’s core gameplay is fun, there just aren’t many ways to play the game, and no matter which way you play, you’re playing with a limited and stale, sub-divided pool of content…

And the ranking system hardly works as intended… people drop out of games like flies… there are many other issues contributing.

Yeah I have to agree. Gameplay isn’t a problem. It very much has a Halo feel to me. It’s all the other things that have drove players away. Wonky servers, bad UI, nothing but a few emblems can earned really, server side achievements not unlocking, ranking system that feels quit unsatisfying. Also yes H5 playing just so competitive it has drove the larger casual crowd away.

As somebody who hasn’t enjoyed nor played Halo 5 in months, even I can say that Halo 5 has the most content out of almost any Halo game (Reach and, arguably, MCC have more). With all the different playlists that were added in with the last update, as well as the BTB map refresh and the custom games browser, I cannot fathom how anybody can say that Halo 5 is dry. Granted, it does lack many of the traditional Halo gametypes, but not as many as it did at launch.

Sure, Halo 5 was more than barebones at launch. It is one of the reasons that I believe Halo 5 failed to hold an audience and why many of us look upon it with negativity. But now? Even though many of the updates brought in content that should have been there at launch, they did give us a lot of content. 343i may have made many huge mistakes with Halo 5, but excellent post-launch support is not one of them.

Let’s not forget the barebones launch… a critical time where first-impressions are everything. Missing Split-screen, features, playlists, game modes, a widely criticized Campaign…

I wouldn’t fault the game’s competitive nature though, that’s a good thing, but that’s where a functional ranking system comes in and is so critical. New players should not be getting stomped repeatedly by smurfs/higher tiered players, etc.

That’s going to frustrate and turn off casual players big time…

Feel like some people want updates until the day of Hao 6 launches… when your done with Halo 5 maybe try HW2, that should be getting updates for a bit as it’s a newer release.

I think Halo 5 dried up simply because it doesn’t have that nostalgic feel anymore.

Take a look at the social playlists: even though its the “casual” playlist, all their game modes pressure people to perform their best.
Commendations: Unlike Halo Reach where people could max out most commendations just by goofing around;most of the commendations in Halo 5 require large kill counts with/against rare equipment.
Campaign: On top of lacking a good story and overall mission design, there really isn’t any reason to play it repeatedly. Yes, scoring was added; but who actually cares about that? There isn’t anything unlocked via campaign. No REQs or RP or Armor gained from it at all.
Firefight: Its not an arcade style game mode, nor is it a sort of mini-mission like Spartan Ops. Its just a jumbled RNG mess that gives you a reason to burn your REQs and hoof it across a needlessly large map to kill needlessly tanky enemies. Add to the fact its the only PvE experience that awards any sort of progress and you’ve just got a sad display.

Overall I think 343 lost touch with itself, focusing more on competitive play and promotion rather than making an enjoyable game for all audiences. And that is why they have nothing left to give.

“Getting dry”

Has been dry for awhile imo. Just not as good as older Halos
