So, I was talking to my cousin who moved to Germany for my first time in about 3 years. A cousin I used to play Halo CE and 2 with. Anyway, he never really played Halo after 3. When I was discussing with him that he needs to buy the MCC, he made the most -Yoinking!- valid point I’ve ever heard about Halo 5, and I didn’t even realize it until I put some thought into it. Without the stupid spartan charge/jet packs, this game would be perfect. The weapon balance is what they wanted. The mechanics are just HALO. I swear this is what halo needed to be. Maps are perfect, the game is simple. Weapons timed. Strategic as -Yoink-. No sense in going in with 2 smg’s and mowing someone down. I don’t know… Just a thought. 343i PERFECTED our series.
Except vehicular game play is ruined, maps are boring and poorly designed and weapons have far too much accurate range.
“Perfect” is too strong a word. Halo 5 gameplay is fun, but it isn’t perfect. And Halo 5, despite it’s fun gameplay, is not the perfect Halo; it has problems in other areas.
I MIGHT BE ON ADDERALL AND EXAGGERATING BUT I -Yoinking!- LOVE THIS GAME

To much accurate range? What? Nothing wrong with range, the issue is certain weapons have large -Yoink- hitboxes which makes them easier to use (sniper for example). As for accuracy, who likes weapons that have a ton of spread to them?
Also, care to elaborate on vehicular play being ruined? Cuz I beg to differ, and h5 has the best maps since h3.
Mechanically, I think H5 is the best of the bunch. Love how it plays which is why I’m still here. Story wise? By far the worst. The scorpion is a POS and near impossible to drive, vehicle physics in general are just plain bad, the “cheap” feeling BTB maps make me sad… there’s a lot of polish this game could use. Overall, I’ve always been a campaign guy first and this Halo has made me a MM player again.

A pistol being able to perfect kill across a BTB map should be insanely hard to pull off u like in Halo 5 whereally it happens pretty frequently
Warthog turrets are almost useless as the gunner gets destroyed in seconds, Sprinting up on tanks makes it too easy to destroy them and none of the arena maps are designed in a way that they could hold a mongoose or ghost anymore.

why would anyone be using a pistol on a btb map when there are br starts
This game is anything but perfect.
- Horrible campaign - Microtransactions - No playable Elites - Lack of split screen - Sprint, Shoulder Charge, Ground Pound, etc. - Garbage maps - Vehicle gameplay is ultimatley ruined - Return of the God Pistol that can outgun basically everything"Perfect"…

How is the “god pistol” any different to the BR?
Halo 5 is EASILY the 4th best mainline Halo entry. What an accomplishment!

I actually agree with most of this, but… God pistol? You literally have no idea what you’re talking about. First of all, the H1 Magnum was one of the most skill-oriented weapons in the history of this series along with the H1/H3 snipers. Getting a perfect kill with that thing in CE was hardly common or easy.
Second, the H5 Magnum is nowhere near the same level of effectiveness in terms of its perfect kill time or its place in the respect sandbox and is easier to use. The Magnum is one of the weakest weapons in this game, because of 343’s ridiculous weapon balance. It’s the hardest precision weapon to use, but receives no advantage in kill time as a result and the overpowered automatics mean that missing one shot (with the hardest weapon in the game to aim), pretty much means you’re toast against someone walking straight forward with an AR. You stand no chance against the SMG/SR, unless your opponent is awful. The Magnum is on the lowest end of viable and the only reason people use it over direct upgrades like the DMR and tier 2 bullet hoses is that you SPAWN with it.

So pistol hmm, who’d trade in a br for a pistol? And if you mean the CE pistol, it’s not really fair to judge when it’s on one map, cuz that so ruins the entire btb experience. Guess you’re just very lucky to see pistols in btb, cuz I rarily ever do unless it’s recurve with the CE pistol as a pickup, which I personally think is fine.
Onto the vehicles, I could show you vids where my clan make warthogs last all game long with gunners getting 20 kills+. The vehicles aren’t the issue other than slight nerfs, but if you’re a bad driver/gunner, of course you’ll not have that vehicular experience cuz you haven’t learned to use them correctly. Same for tanks, if the tank driver is good, he stays with his team to make sure he doesn’t get boarded if he himself can’t pay attention to players working their way to him.
I STRONGLY disagree on vehicles being in arena games besides btb.

You spawn with the pistol in most gametypes, it’s single-shot (therefore more accurate players can kill someone faster with it rather than having to trace all three BR shots), it has a massive range and fires fast enough to outgun most other loadout weapons.

Because you’re ignorant? Maybe you think the “Halo One Pistol” in this game is even close to an accurate representation of the original? The original M6D was pinpoint accurate with minimal magnetism and aim assist and fired projectiles with travel time, which required you to lead you shots at range, but it had no random spread at range. The only weapons comparable to that in terms of aim requirement was the sniper rifle in CE and H3 (the only weapons arguably more difficult). That Magnum had the largest difference between perfect and average kill time of any starting weapon in this series and if you disagree, that’s not just a matter of opinion, you are objectively wrong.
