So obviously this is a massively foreseen outcome related to the removal of split-screen(343’s biggest mistake yet). But I didnt realize my prediction of disappointed, uninformed parents and their heartbroken, loving children would come a day later. Just wait until the holidays, when I can see a lot of those Halo 5 Xbox One bundles getting traded in…Just remember you did this to yourselves.
That was a great story and broke my heart because I already had to break the news to my nieces and nephews who will be here for the holidays. I really dont think they realize what they have done by removing splitscreen.
Removal of split-screen sucks even though it might be justified for FPS. I just hope they’ll compensate with something later down the road.

Me and the Mrs. play split screen every now and then with Halos and other games… I can’t even imagine what parents will do with the children… Its a shame really… Along with not being able to play with out being online. I think that will cause problems as well.
The only split-screen I’ll miss is split-screen forge with my brothers. We would all build bases with our friend and just mess around. It’s saddening we can’t do that anymore though.

And you can probably expect it to go on into the NEXT two months. Why a blockbuster AAA title like Halo, that was able to sell consoles and essentially establish Xbox Live as a whole cant add in a split-screen feature and online coop, while “maintaining 60 fps” and beef up the graphics a little is beyond me.

I am not sure the Xbox One has that kind of processing power to have split screen, improved graphics, AND maintain 60 FPS. Maybe someone here who knows the engineering can speak to this matter?
I do know that it would have been an embarrassment to the Xbox if Halo 5 would have launched with worse graphics than it currently has.

Trust me, based on the specs, adding split screen is a completely simple task. Especially from a team that has been the masters of it for the past decade. Black Ops 3 graphically, far surpasses Halo 5 and it has all the features a AAA game should have. 343 obviously cut corners most likely in reference to time constraints.

Personally I’ve always hated split screen, Can’t see -Yoink- and the other person’s movements is distracting.
Where were all you split screen players prior to Halo 5’s announcement? You were a silent minority, but now you choose to make an outcry? You done goofed. It’s a little too late, folks. No point in whining about it.
