H2, hated by many at the time. Now considered by many to be the best in the series.
H3, hated by many who loved H2 at the time. Later considered one of the best in the series, contender for top spot by many.
Reach, hated almost universally at the time. H4 came out, opinions on Reach grew milder.
H4, hated even more…see post above for repeating pattern.

Although H4 will definitely never be considered a contender for the title of best Halo game obviously. But watch it’s status change, unless H5 turns out to be of H2/3 caliber. Still, the H3 Beta was amazing compared to the final product as well, so I’m still withholding judgement.

i loved halo 1 2 and 3 even reach was ok but halo 4 lost my interest in a day but this game has peaked my interest
