So, I have been searching through the forums and related media. I have seen very mixed reactions among players: They either like it by a mile or hate it back one. Keep in mind this game is fresh from its launch date, so more relevant reviews come later. Regardless, here is what I summarized of the playerbase who like or don’t like halo:
You’re likely to like halo 5 if…
-
You like having fun - Appreciate new changes - BTB fan (ahem, warzone) - Don’t like complaining over the little things; focus more on the big picture - Your taste for shooters varies much. - You are close to being a casual gamer - True halo fan, you play halo and love it (even in the days of halo 4) - Multiplayer fan - More “open” to lore in the came; accepting and appreciating new changes - Like change - Like (lots) of variety/weapons/vehicles/etc - Negative reviews don’t effect your decision to get the game by muchYou’re not likely to like halo 5 if…
-
You are focused on competitive/lore gameplay - Conservative halo player, ie you want everything to be like the last “classics” - Like to speak your mouth (loud) if you don’t like changes - You hate sprint - You hate call of duty with a clenched fist. May vary. - Like halo as a slow-pace shooter. - You concentratencentrate on the smallest details; you love to pounce on small mistakes developers make - (Huge) BR fan. - Strict judge of maps for comp play. - Hate movement - You are a watchdog of 343I. You watch everything they do - Watch Fox news. (maybe, jk)
I have not got my game yet, but I played the beta and loved it! I should get my game later can`t wait to play some warzone, and the campaign looks sick.
I’m happy to say I am the first set of bullet points
(I do hate CoD with a clenched fist though…)

Competitive players helped shape the multiplayer man… So why would other competitive players not like it?
I don’t understand why some people don’t like change.
If the game hadn’t evolved at all then we all might as well just be playing DLC for the MCC.
I’d consider myself a competitive player. While I haven’t played the game on a try-hard level yet, I feel it will be quite fun at that level. So I don’t see why you would think that a multiplayer, shaped by competitive players, wouldn’t attract competitive players.

Because there is nothing to understand. “Change” is as accurate as “stuff”. Your sentence implies that the changes proposed by H5 are the only potential changes that could have existed. That’s wrong.
Nobody is against “change”. Some people don’t like some changes, and others don’t like some other changes. That’s it.
