Halo 5 Is A Great Game! ...but it is missing a lot

What if the whole time 343 has been lieing to us and they released the whole game! You know how they shipped Halo 5 out with about 70℅ of everything missing? What if they actually used those 3 years and released all that content now?
Lol funny

But 343 has been planning these montly updates ever since almost a year before its release so when u guys think we’re getting new stuff its not… Take the Gametypes for an example, there already made, but put on a weekend playlist, why? So they can release an update with them coming out and everyone will be happy.

Wow. That’s deep man

I think I understand why a lot of the content was missing at launch. Remember, Halo 5 is running on a completely new engine built from the ground up, unlike every past Halo game. Before now, they just took the engine that came before it, made some modifications, and called it a day. So, in essence, Halo 2 Anniversary is running on a modified Halo 4 engine, which is a modified Reach engine, etc., which goes all the way back to Halo 1.

So, for that reason, a lot of the data could be more easily carried over. But since Halo 5 is a brand new engine that’s built completely differently (shown by the ability to easily add DLC armour, add new colours, etc.), it means that the gametypes had to be rebuilt from scratch as well, as did Forge and the other features. On top of that, 343i was trying to create Warzone and give us a good Arena experience. It took years for Bungie to build up all of those features with their games, so I can understand why Halo 5 did not ship with all of them.

Now, that being said, I expect that Halo 6 will be built on top of the new Halo 5 engine. It should be a much more complete game, and hopefully reintroduce split-screen into the series. After 3 more years of working on the engine, it should be capable of much more.

And they obviously had grander plans for some of the game types… which had to be put on the backburner.

We’ve waited patiently (or not so) for the likes of Grifball and Assault… and February’s update has this covered. But instead of just the same old game types we look to be getting a fully customisable range of options. This will allow people to recreate old classics as well as create new ones.

Hopefully they will put the same care into upcoming updates with infection and king of the hill etc

Maybe then, when people see what comes out of the custom community, they will appreciate why 343i left them hanging so long.
