Halo 5 is a game of gimmicks

Remember when Halo used whoever had a better shot actually won the fight? Now it’s croutch with SMG and AR. or check it out I’m about to lose a battle let me thrust away cause I put my self in a bad position in the battlefield. Well that’s long gone, you changed the game up so much 343 to compete with Cod sells and still couldn’t compete with them. Now you slowly pushing the real community away, congrats. Halo is dead and gone.

You are simply wrong

Meh, I dunno if they’re pushing the real community away.

Personally I’m not happy with the direction the franchise is going overall, or with the ridiculous amount of fanboys it’s acquired.

For the most part the abilities are pretty gimmicky.

Agree with you on the fanboys, and really hate the narrative direction they’re taking, but not sure about the community. A lot of people I know sold their copies, moved on to something with more to offer.

Stongly disagree with you on Spartan Abilities, every time I go and play some MCC campaign I find it brutally slow now. “I actually have to walk up these stairs now? Huh I could just clamber in Halo 5.” While I can’t duplicate the opening scene for Osiris, I can come pretty close when I’m on a roll, feels almost godlike.

Do you cry everyday or only when you are on your period?

Lol they lost sooooo many players within months the white knights are like “chill be patient, as long as I get matches fast idc, everything is free stop complaining.” Its funny because they are same people who are justifying remixes, the fact that the base game was barebones, think that everyone will stay a year after the game came out with monthly updates when that obviously isn’t the case and believe nothings wrong with the game I mean they are defending it to begin with.

I just cry more on my period actually. I was just expressing how I felt about the game and you gotta be rude. If you dont have anything nice to say that don’t say anything at all

It’s ironic bc ur post is even less constructive, I think u need to adapt to avoid being a hypocrite…

As for the game, it needs to advance, the same game with a different name won’t sell well. I like the fundamental ideas of the game, but the fact that it’s so bare as others have mentioned is a total blue ball. Think about it, just now they’re releasing ball gametypes and infection. The aiming is still -Yoinked!- up. The game has a lot of progress to make before it can be even remotely compared to other Halos imo. So in that sense, it’s gimmicky. 343 releasing content that should be shipped with the game as “free DLC?” What a load of bs! As far as the base of the game goes, to each his own.

I adapt just fine, i enjoy just enjoy a first person shooter were the better shooter wins. That’s not always the case in this game.

Sprint - Rewards poor positioning and blind aggression. Maps are purposely designed to force you to use it.
Thrust - Trivializes strafing and grenade dodging (Hope you like overpowered grenades and ridiculous levels of bullet magnetism!)
Clamber - Trivializes skill jumps. Maps are purposely designed to force you to use it.

How they call this gimmicky AF Halo, with absurd amounts of skill compression, the most competitive since H3 is beyond me.

More like “Man, I have to clamber this jump? I miss when I can make ALL my jumps without this pointless gimmick.”

In Halo 2 you could probably just straight up leap over that hypothetical set of stairs because the jump height was ridiculously high.

In Halo 5 I can’t even jump over most pieces of small cover, they’re designed around clamber.

I respectfully disagree with all of your points.
Sprint: You are confusing the sprint of H5 with the sprint of H4. Watch a pro game, the amount of sprinting they do is minimal. Unless you are playing a bunch of scrubs with minimal awareness, you are 9 times out of ten gonna die when sprinting with no shields.
Thrust: Offers a new avenue of strafing, and a new way to come back in a gunfight when down a shot. This greatly increases the skill gap actually (not to mention slide boosting). As for nades, they’re not overpowered at all (besides splinters). And only the sniper has ridiculous amounts of bullet magnetism. With the other guns, the magnetism works just fine.
Clamber: It does take away from skill jumps like in previous Halos. That being said, when combined with other movements, it offers arguably more skill jumps than any other Halo.

Your post and your opinion are useless and pointless. Community, please stop this. Stop complaining. At least give some constructive criticism…
(Sorry for bad english)

Sprint: Any amount is too much. Yeah I’m gonna be that insufferable.

Thrust: I’m pretty ambivalent about thrust, maybe even leaning towards being in favor of it, but giving people more options to escape doesn’t increase the skill gap. I mean the reversal aspect is pretty good, but proper strafe and aiming mechanic design would go about as far in achieving this.

Clamber: The skill aspect comes from proper timing of thrust and hover. Clamber is simply a means of finishing the skill jump, and in itself doesn’t take any skill to use because you can just hold it down and auto-climb (and even ignoring that it’s still pretty forgiving in its timing).

You have an excellent point, and I’d like to see maps designed more around both styles of movement, both old and new. And while the moon jump of earlier Halo games was fun, I’m glad it’s been tuned down a bit, actually I wouldn’t mind in place of this being able to use your thrusters as an additional jump in mid air. Kind of like the Titanfall style. It might create some even better tactical thinking. “Do I thrust up and hope for the advantage? Or stay down and save the thrust for an evade.”

I believe in reasonable evolution over time and I think the abilities are within reason. It’s kind of like a lot of people who liked the limited loadouts in Reach, but thought that Halo 4 took it too far. I loved being able to select a fairly balanced loadout according to my play style, but with Halo 4 it went too far because everyone could select for advantage.

What’s the difference between a fan of the game and a fanboy?

Sprint: agree to disagree xD
Thrust: on top of aiming and strafing, you can now thrust which adds another dynamic to gunfights. This adds to the school gap without crossing the line that is too many options during a gunfight.
Clamber: Of course using clamber doesn’t require any skill, but implementing the added verticality it brings to the game does. Performing the jumps themselves takes skill, and clamber simply offers a means of farther reach on these skill jumps.

A fan of the game is someone who is willing to accept its flaws along with its highlights, and is willing to have a rational conversation or debate about it.

A fanboy is someone who won’t accept the negative view of the game, and will not engage or debate with people in a reasonable way. Basically someone who gives blind support to the developer no matter what they do.
