Halo 5 is 343i's Halo 2. Issues, but it's Halo!

Think beyond new additions… think visual problems, story issues, experience of the studios… Unless you started with Halo 3 or 4, you’d remember that H2 had these SAME problems. Now its loved and revered.

Just give 343 some slack. This is their 2nd title and its a huge improvement from Halo 4. They’re learning, and quickly.

Don’t be so pessimistic, there can be 10 things you may love about Halo 5, so focus on those, not the 1, 2, or 3 things that you think are terrible.
…Try not to be AS toxic of a community to our newest addition.

I still like Halo 5, but I vastly prefer what 343 did with Halo 4’s campaign. The actual gameplay is outstanding, though!

It’s a step up from H4, I’ll give it that. But that doesn’t say much. H4 was garbage. A step up from garbage is still pretty bad.

Will do… except that being toxic is apart of most communities nowadays, especially competitive ones

That is true, but some members of our community are very loud in tearing the game apart and ditching it.

But Halo 2 had a much deeper story than Halo: CE, while Halo 5’s story feels lazy compared to Halo 4 and it disregards all of its themes.

Have you finished it on your own?

I did, and I completely agree with Phenotype94.

The campaign, hell the game itself was only available while your Xbox was disconnected from Xbox Live up until today unless you were on the white list. I could post pictures of my achievements and physical copies, but I don’t need to prove anything when a simple Google search will confirm what I’m saying.

lol what?

I’ve watched an entire playthrough via livestream, cutscenes included. I think that gives me a gist of the basic story. Of course that doesn’t cover the intel, but it should allow me to judge the story.

At the end of halo 4 after saving chief she told him that there were pieces of her down on the didacts ship then walking away and vanishing (not dying like people stupidly believed). We learned in halo 5 that the didacts ship went into slip space thus bringing cortanas pieces to genesis where those peices came in contact to the domain and made something. I want to add that at the end of halo 4 notice that it seemed like she was cured of her rampancy after she got rid of those pieces and the rampant pieces could be what we are dealing with now.

It does. Halo 4 set-up Chief’s growth as a character, and 343 suggested that Halo 5 would be about how he overcomes losing her with Blue Team. Instead Chief’s presence was relegated to just three missions and he was massively overshadowed by the bland Fireteam Osiris. He receives very little development in Halo 5. Not to mention how it completely pisses on any notion of Cortana’s sacrifice. Having her alive and return as the antagonist doesn’t do justice to that.

Very few things are made clear in Halo 5. Why Cortana has become evil is one of them. Not bothering to account for stuff like that /is/ lazy as well as perplexing.

Plus, there are no truths to hunt, no two sides of the story to toss you back and forth before the real side is confirmed, and the Chief is hardly “missing” while something big is supposed to be happening. The story ends before it even begins.

Plus, how can you have entities like the Guardians be in the damn title and have them literally do nothing but warp and sing?
