Do you guys think Halo 5’s intro was the best one yet? =)
I love H2’s, but this is easily second, then ODST

Yes, it’s extremely sick. The whole game is sick. Can’t wait for the update this week.

I like them in that order too. =)
Aye, I think this is the most EPIC intro.

Agreed! =)
I loved it. At the beginning, I was like “cool.” Then, when Locke jumped out and the screen said “Halo 5 Guardians” and those awesome chords played, I was like “YASSSSS!!!”
The Osiris part? Yes. The part with Halsey in CASTLE Base that had little to do with the story? Nah. So 50/50.
It was the best cut scene ever in the games

Agree about the Halsey part. But I think the Osiris part was just a tad overdone. Still like it though.
I love how the new spartans were all flash; Ground pounding, jumping onto a drop ship to take out some elites, bashing through rocks… Just showing off their abilities.
Then there’s Blue Team. These bad to the bone Spartans only fired shots to make an entrance. Then knew no other shots needed to be fired. Blue Team showed their skills and experience by not having to show their skills… Their intro was classy.
I prefer Blue Team’s entrance, personally. But Osiris were still pretty damn awesome.

This. Blue team’s entrance was bad -Yoink-!
The one elite was like: “throw the unggoy out the air lock”
Master Chief busts through the window and be like: “Hell naw”
The elites fly out the window into space and the Unggoy be like: “Thanks bruh”
The Halsey part just felt completely random and out of place. The Osiris part was cool to look at but I thought it was a tad overdone. It was kind of like “See how awesome Spartan IV’s are? LOVE THEM!!!”.
My favorite intro cinematic is probably ODST’s. It managed to set up all the characters and situation really well, and being in the drop pod was about as intense as a cinematic can get. Halo 2’s was also great with the parallels between the Hero returning in glory vs shame.
And just because we are talking about it, my favorite end cinematics were probably for Halo 3 and 4. Halo 3 managed to tie things up nicely and the memorial scene and “wake me when you need me” line were a fitting bitter sweet way to end the trilogy. I also adore the Didact’s epic monologue at the end of Halo 4. Too bad it didn’t lead anywhere.

Blue Team’s was awesome, but in my opinion it wasn’t as good as Osiris. =)

Yeah I agree with you that Osiris’ intro was more flashy. Personally, that didn’t make me like it any less. =)

My favorite end cinematic was Halo 3’s too. =)
I hated the opening cinematic. What does 343 have against letting the player be in control during action sequences and decisive conflicts? We were treated to a battle between Osiris and a bunch of covenant where the player’s interaction amounted to setting the controller down.
That’s not the only part of the game that could have benefited from some player interaction. The end of the very same level comes to mind. The fight between Chief and Locke, along with the escape along those floating platforms comes to mind. Blue Team’s entrance comes to mind. All of these sequences would have been better if they were altered to allow the player to play them.
When I think back to the original trilogy, I can think of only two times Chief did anything remotely strenuous without the player being in control. Chief ran from the temple after killing the Prophet of Regret, and Chief ran after firing up installation 4b. Aside from that, the player was in control during any action sequences. It made for much better storytelling.

Yes I think so, For me it goes H5>H3ODST>H2>H4(visually stunning at the time)>HCE>H3
I don’t even remember Reach’s
