Is it just me, or does H5 have a lot of input lag? I play on a benq rl2455hm which is supposedly a gaming monitor (it had a picture of shibby on the box), and with a wired micro USB, and yet i’m noticing quite a bit of input lag on H5. On MCC this isn’t an issue. I play Halo 3 on there and it feels great. There is still some input lag, which is expected, but it’s so minimal it’s almost unnoticeable. Anyone know what’s causing this? Is it the benq monitor, the xbox one, or Halo 5? Thanks!
I don’t notice any input lag. How small is it? I’ll look out for it next time I play
its a small amount compared to what you would get if you played on like a plasma screen tv, but its enough to the point where im missing a lot. And when i say a lot i mean all the time lol. I know this game has considerably less auto aim than previous halos but i’ve spent like 5 minutes before just moving my thumbstick back and forth, staring at a wall, and checking back at the movement on the screen. I really do notice some lag.
The lag on my setup isn’t even noticeable.
It has gotta be something on your monitor, as I have no noticeable input lag. However, it’s really odd that there isn’t any for your other games.
war viper do you mind telling me your setup? and paragon i have no idea and i dont really know what to do here. I’ve tinkered with the settings on the monitor and there hasn’t been too much of a difference

Sorry for the late reply but here is my setup:
Sony KDL55W950B 55 inch LED TV.
Image lag is measured at 17 milliseconds which is really good for for this size of flat screen. http://www.displaylag.com/display-database/When playing multiplayer I always have my wireless controller plugged into the USB. As far as I can tell there is no discernible lag in the image output and 17ms is pretty much well below what the human eye can accurately perceive and react to. Also have you tried using another monitor or tv as a comparison? I would imagine your gaming monitor is probably preset to a gaming mode but if not be sure it is turned on if it has the option for it.
No lag for me. When I switch from my monitor to my TV though I can really feel the difference in input lag. Oh well, the TV was free so can’t complain.
hey war viper yeah i have theres a big -Yoink- vizio LED tv i think in the house that I used to play on before i got the benq monitor. The benq is definitely much better but the vizio was actually pretty good considering how big it was. I don’t think there is a gaming mode on there since ive looked over all the settings and couldnt find anything like that. It’s weird though, i reset my settings and turned of the “AMA” option and it seemed to improve the input actually, im playing a lot better than I was when i posted my original post. But i dont really see how AMA would make a difference… maybe i just had a bad day of halo, oh well. Oh and thanks for that website link! Pretty interesting searching up my monitor on there and other tvs.
I play on a BenQ monitor and I have 0 noticeable input lag.
A friend of mine plays on a Sony LED TV and I’ve noticed quite a bit of lag on his setup.
I think that this so called input lag issue is exacerbated by the inconsistent acceleration on the aim mechanic. It feels to me a little like input lag because you cannot predict were the cross hair will land while the right stick is pegged.
In my experience turning aim excel down has lead to a more predictable mechanic. However from time to time I still run into what I would consider an “over correcting” input loop. If that makes any sense. like pegged right, pegged left, pegged right. If you make a concerted effort to not peg the thumb stick the aim mechanic feels much more consistent.
For me this issue is less prevalent when using the Razer Wildcat, or the xbox elite controller.

I get input lag when i try to thrust-slide-jump-ads-stabilize so that my spartan does not aim in when it should and i miss the jump because the aim in never happened.
I bought the same monitor 2 days ago and theres absolutely no lag. Its 75Hz with a 1ms response. There should be next to none. The conversion for me has made me so much better. I play very competitively

Oh wow. I have the one that tops the list and I didn’t even know it.

that might be why considering that I peg the thumbstick pretty much all the time lol. Ill turn accel. down to like 0 next time i play and see if it makes a difference. Thanks for sharing!
I don’t notice any, and i’m using a TV
