Halo 5 infection

Hello, so infection is confirmed to come to Halo 5 now. I want to start a discussion about what should be in it, Halo Reach has been clearly the best one out of all the Halos for infection. This is clearly because in Halo Reach it was so balanced in Halo 4 it was trash zombies could have invisibility and the thruster pack which was just stupid also the lunge range was way too much. I do not want to see a repeat of Flood in Halo 4 on 5. What are your opinions on this?
Personally I don’t want zombies to be able to Spartan charge or boost but they should be able to sprint of course and please please don’t have an OP lunge like in H4 and H2. Halo Reach had a perfectly balanced lunge range. Also in Halo 4 headshots were not a 1 shot kill this should be the case in Halo 5 because it gives the chance of all pistol killionaires which is what I like in my infection montages.

Alpha zombies should be the game type…the original Alpha zombies. Where you have one zumbie who is super fast and strong and all the other zombies are just normal zombies.

I think that the modded Halo 4 flood modes were actually the best, THE MODDED ONES NOT THE LAUNCH ONE. They had so many awesome options, and I hope that 343 puts most if not all (hopefully more) of these awesome options into the Halo 5 version of Infection.

I’m curious if they are gong to make it a permanent playlist or are they just going to make it a weekly fling and piss everyone off, because it’ll reduce the warzone population and the arena population.

Infected BTB style with a bunch of players on a slightly larger map?

Infected strongholds mode where survivors get more points for holding down a certain place for a point in time(still get points for infected kills)

Will there be different loadouts for spawning infected like speed boost and active camo?

Will there be a certain armor required for infected or will you just turn green in your custom setup?

Maybe have the more kills you have as infected without dying upgrade your sword to the next level up, eventually getting you that special one that turns you invisible…

I just want infection as it is.

It will be staying perm I’m 99% sure.

I agree with the top 2 but I don’t want any boosts or invisibility crap, that’s what killed Halo 4 flood not like H4 is trash anyway

Ah, infection. Great gametype. Lots of fun.

I, oddly enough, enjoyed the Halo 3 infection the best, followed by Reach, followed by Halo 4. The one thing I really didn’t like so much in Reach was blowing away a zombie with a shotgun, getting the bull true, only to still end up dying.
My opinion? Twofold:
For arena, keep it simple. Shotguns and pistols for spartans. Melee/sword for the infected. No perks, armor abilities or what-not.
However, for the sake of custom games, please keep all those options available, and more. What weapons each side spawns with, perks, health, speed, etc. Options are good. And it would be really awesome (at least for me anyways) to have an option for reverse infection. A zombie kills a spartan, the spartan joins the ranks of the infected (as per usual). If a spartan kills a zombie, the zombie joins the ranks of the spartan. That would be a fun gametype (at least, for me. Fun is relative).
options for custom games are good. Wild options for arena not so much.

I think that they should keep the flood look for the infected, but definitely scale done their special abilities that they had access to in Halo 4. Maybe remove their ability to clamber and thrust, but give them a higher running speed?

Loving infection atm BUT I have a few suggestions/requests… Lower green brightness on infected… Too bright… Some people like to hide/ambush and not only does it cancel out camo but makes you stand out in darkened arenas. I’ve attacked several grouped up Spartans using B instead of trigger… Yet kill only 1 despite my sword connecting with them all… Im not asking to kill 2-3 in 1 swing BUT damaging the others would be nice. Remove Radar as it -Yoink!- the mass amount of campers… Give infected some kinda scent vision… Like Far cry/BO3/Dooms footprint thing. And finally… Slightly off subject BUT can you stop this “New map” lying when releasing reskinned halo 5 maps and actually create some non symetrical, blackout, zanzibar or Zanzibar arena maps. These round maps got boring fast. Apart from that (and the story balls up) you’re doing a good job :slight_smile:

IMO Humans are supposed to have an advantage over zombies that’s how infection always has been it’s not supposed to be balanced or easy for the zombies

Agree with the turn the color down but everything else needs to stay. The game plays nicely.
