Hey guys, after not Forging for a while, I’ve had an idea for my biggest Forge project yet: A map based on either the UNSC In Amber Clad or the UNSC Pillar of Autumn, made to 1:1 scale. I have a few queries about the capacity of Forge in regards to whether this is achievable, however. Firstly, I am planning to use the “Parallax” canvas (so that I can have it in space, it is a spaceship after all), and was wondering if it would be large enough? I have never actually determined how large that one is, so I’m hoping someone knows whether the map is over 478 meters in diameter (so that I can fit it all in), although I’d assume it is large enough. Secondly, due to the sheer scale of the Frigate, will Forge actually have enough parts to allow me to create a full-scale replica? I’m hoping that it will have enough parts to allow me to recreate the exterior, and if I’m super lucky, the interior also. Thanks in advance guys. And if anyone has any tips for building it as efficiently as possible (whilst not compromising quality), I would love to hear also.
Cheers guys.
I know that Barrens is huge, but I don’t think Parallax is that big. Take it with a grain of salt though as that’s just how it feels to me, but I could be completely wrong.
Forge should allow to at least make the outside of the PoA, but I highly doubt you’ll have enough pieces to make both the inside and outside. A frigate may work though.
I honestly don’t know! I think it’s an awesome idea though. I think it’s more likely possible to make In Amber Clad and the Dawn than the Pillar though.

I’d like to atleast include the parts of the ship we have actually seen (e.g. the bridge, hangar bay, ODST Drop Pod bays, etc), if nothing else, so hope to be able to atleast manage those. Thanks for the feedback! If Parallax does turn out to be too small, I’ll give Barrens a try.

Yeah, they are way smaller (the Autumn is more than twice their length, for example), and because we haven’t seen as much of the insides of those ships as we have with the Autumn, there will be less areas that I feel as though I HAVE to make on the inside. Thanks!

Yeah, seriously! I was looking at the dimensions for the Autumn and I have to say I think it’s kinda strange… So a modern day aircraft carriers is ~1100 feet long and holds 4-5 thousand people. The Autumn is approximately 1 aircraft carrier tall, 1 wide, and about 3.5 long. It’s enormous right? For all of that space, the Autumn is crewed by 400 people. It also has a compliment of about 1000 marines, but still. At first I thought it was the engines that might take up a significant portion of the space inside, but now I wonder if that’s true because other ships have similar engines and are smaller. I guess the crew must be so light because of automation? I can’t help but wonder what they do with all of that space on board.

Wow, I never thought about that! As much as I love the Autumn (possibly my favorite spaceship in sci-fi, possibly followed by the Forward Unto Dawn and In Amber Clad, as well as those Covenant CCS-Class Battlecruisers), it’s large size really doesn’t make as much sense. The only things I can think of are if it is designed to carry more vehicles and stuff, or perhaps carries extra ammunition, but surely they wouldn’t take up that much space. I guess it’s a mystery.
