Halo 5 IDEA:RADOM THOUGHt:** More competetive

Ok so I am one of those kids that no longer plays Halo 4, and it isn’t because it’s a bad game. Its because the game was way to casual, so I lost interest playing online, but late last night before bed, I had a great idea and I wanted to see what the community thought of it. So as we all know ordnance drops, and player insta spawns kinda of make the game unbalanced.

So last night I was thinking, what could help casual player play, but keep the game competitive with rewarding someone with a OP gun, because they built up points.

So the idea I had was base it off of kill streaks, without dying.

What it would be is kind of like ordinance, but you activate it with the DPAD.

Here is what I thought of.

3 Kills = Gives the player a choice to chose a power weapon, or powerup that allows the player to see the time limit and location of that item spawn.

5 Kills = Gives the player the option of seeing the enemy team powerup, power weapon on the map.
(So whoever is carrying this power weapon would be tracked by the player) (The player being tracked would be notified with some sort of HUD icon letting him know he is being watched. Because of a powerup-Power weapon he has.

10 kills = At 10 kills without dying you can walk up to any of the power weapon or guns in the game and insta spawn it resetting the timer from that point. This process could take the player 5 seconds to complete, and maybe they would glow or something letting the enemy team know that are instaspawning something.

Now this doesn’t have to be Kills without deaths, but I would prefere it that way since its a reward for the player doing well, and I mean that was a quick idea I had. I just wanted to see if the community would hate such an Idea, but I think it would balance the random acts of the game with also giving casuals a better idea of what is going on in a game.

Let me know what you think.

You stopped playing Halo 4 because it was too casual, so now you want to implement an element from CoD, which is more casual than me when I’m too lazy to put on nice clothes, in the hopes that it would make the game less casual. Makes sense.

Please tell me how this is like COD? and excuse me, but Halo is more casual than Cod cosidering COD made it onto MLG. yet I don’t understand what you mean? Cod gives you streak that give you kills, the streaks I am talking about are things that would help a newbie, get down weapon spawns, and the flow of power weapons. Last time I checked COD had no such thing.

Helping newbies is exactly what casual games are supposed to do. That’s who they cater towards.

Haha, what? That’s now the definition of “casual”? Anything that’s not in MLG?

Here’s an idea, keep ordnance and kill streaks out of ranked playlists, and put them in social. BAM! Problem solved.

No not all games that aren’t in MLG are just casual, but excuse me COD is more competitive than Halo 4 is. Yes if they got rid of Ordinance that would be great, but that isn’t going 2 happen, so I just thought of a happy medium, I would rather have that than ordinance is all I am saying.

So now we need kill streaks? Hate it.

Nope.

Honestly I think it’s a great idea! I don’t think it’s too similar to COD. I love your ideas and you should come up with more!

What you suggested sounds a lot like call of halo. Im all in for a competetive game. Thats what got meinto halo in the first place. Id prefer we keep things “to deminish the leaning curve” at a minimum lest we have H5 become reach 3.0.

But that said you are trying to salvage and improve upon something that is already there so good job keep some ideas going.

Personally, I’d prefer THIS, but I love seeing ideas other than “Take it out because it didn’t work the first time and it can’t be fixed EVER.” I also wouldn’t take the “criticisms” consisting only of “Its in CoD, so NO.” to heart. I mean come on, people. If there’s something wrong with an idea, put it into words that make sense, rather than senselessly blurting out similarities.

Halo is quite different from other FPS games. Aiming down the sights, sprinting, going prone, grenade indicators, kill streaks (or something similar), are becoming fairly common. I think Halo should try to avoid using these things, making a game more mainstream (like Halo 4 did) isn’t good. If a games unique, that’s why people get it, because it’s different, when the general number games goes one way, you should go the other. Overall I don’t like this idea, as this is a mainstream thing, and Halo should avoid that.

No, I would prefer that Halo had nothing like this.

Okay let me state this first Halo in my opinion is supposed to be a game that’s hard on newbies. Where you have to know the fastest route to the power weapons and the fastest route to the point of map control. (I also dislike Ordinance and believe it shouldn’t be in Halo.) Also what you state seems very similar to COD because you have to stay alive to earn them and now you take out the randomness. (Yes, I know COD has different variations for kill streaks, but once you select what you want, then the randomness is gone and you know what you’re going to get rewarded with.) Lastly, what you state is pretty much in its simplest form is Ordinance where you have to stay alive to earn and no random rewards. Thanks for trying to make it harder for the newbies and getting your thoughts out, and less random factors to the gameplay.
