and my opinion
Ill Tell You Why It Failed
Campaign

  1. Terrible Campaign
  2. Story line was utter Trash, it felt like it was those secondary missions you do in batman games
    Multiplayer
  3. They decide to go with that sprint -Yoink- which was never needed in halo(Including the ground pound)
  4. Maps are very bad
  5. Guns are also awful, some guns are op, some just feel like theirs no point in using them
    The Game itself
  6. feels like they cared the most about graphics than anything that halo has to offer
  7. Helmets and armors are so bad, you can barely tell the differences from most of the armors
3 No forge, like really how can you not even have forge
  8. the playlists are garbage, bring back doubles, MLG, snipers, social playlist
343 please take not for halo 6 because if nothing changes i think halo 6 will defiantly be the last

Well, you really can’t judge sales right now. It’s only been a month since it came out.

Umm, some insiders think that digital sales of Halo 5 were as high as 50%. There’s no way to know how many digital copies were sold til Microsoft tells us.

Besides, it still sold good as far as a video game, but not quite to Halo standards.

You know what I took away from your wandering rant? Sprint. I wish you’d just made another “I hate sprint” thread and been done with it. You don’t care whether this is the best- or worst-selling Halo ever. You don’t really care about campaign. Your opinion on the guns applies to every single version of Halo ever made, so again, no news there. Everything you said under the heading “The Game Itself” is pointless. (Nice graphics for a next gen console? What the heck did you expect? And amor? Really? If this was Family Feud and the host said, “Kind of person who cares about what they wear,” my answer would be “Drag Queen.” Couldn’t be less important. And stop whining about Forge. It’s a non-issue. And stop whining about play lists. Another non-issue.) Obviously the only thing here of any substance, and I use the term loosely, is that you don’t like sprint. Which is fine. You just could have saved us all a lot of time if you’d cut to the chase.

I think H5 will have the greatest legs of a Halo since H3. It just released when there was more competition and less userbase. When H3 released, COD hadn’t yet taken the casuals by storm. There was no Star Wars FPS. Halo was still fresh enough.

Once all the free content is out, I predict this game will sustain it’s base very well. More content will be out before Christmas when the base will get another bump. Star Wars has no legs. A bunch of gamers will be back and it’ll keep selling well as a result.

You know digital sales aren’t included in those numbers.

343 has released a partial game, and has received partial sales. This game should have stayed true to tradition in launching with full content and game modes, and add map packs later. However, it launched with Forge and Social games delayed. Split-screen is nonexistent, which has eliminated many potential players that enjoy actually being around their friends.
They’ve lost sight on how the original fan base was built and maintained, they keep trying to innovate, when just improving and polishing already successful systems would appease the masses. 343 keeps trying to fix things that aren’t broken. Now everything is “fixed” and the ship is going down.
The people who care, critique. The people that don’t care, don’t play anymore.

Sales numbers are posted only for physical copies. Digital could be 500k-1mil or far less. Who knows. So we dont know if halo 5 has the worst sales or the best to be honest. No video game dev ever posts digital sales. If anything hurts halo 5 reputation its the campaign. MP is solid but still wont bring in new players or satisfy most long term fans like myself.
At this point its time to go back to what made Halo popular…Halo CE or Halo 2 style MP and map design. Throw in forge and co op modes like Firefight. Also hire better writers for campaign.

fanboy for the game harder dude

The gameplay, guns and abilities are the part of this game they got right. The lacking story and lack of basic gametypes and content is the real issue. And for the greatest forge ever, I think the wait is worth it. But having to wait for something as simple as social playlists and things like oddball is pretty absurd.

But that aside. Don’t ever, let numbers decide your opinion of a game. Ever. Too many people act as though the numbers are all that matters.

I will say I agree that the campaign was the worst yet and that the lack of multiplayer content was quite disappointing. I will also say that I agree that their focus in this game was definitely graphic based, and I definitely would have preferred more content than graphics.

As people have said above, the sales numbers don’t include digital, though. And I do still enjoy the game despite its many faults.

Reasons why I think Halo 5 isn’t being well-received, and will probably go down as a flop for MS are:
No Splitscreen
MC in only 3 missions
Focus on Locke, who nobody gives a -Yoink- about
Terrible story
No 1-50
Sprint and Clamber
Bad maps
ADS (half *)
Halo 4 MP and MCC (for first 8 months) being trash

*the reasons that stopped me from buying the game

Bad playlists, non-playable Elites, and lack of Forge at launch are bad, but I don’t think these factored into the sales.

If sales matter, then Twilight must be a literary masterpiece.

On a side note, digital copies were not included in the statistics.

That’s addressed in the video.

Sprint has been in Halo for a while now… It’s certainly not the reason for the sales decrease. Campaign was not good, but it wasn’t “utter trash”. Helmets and armor are just opinions, nobody didn’t buy the game because the armor ‘looked bad’. That goes for maps too. I completely agree with playlists though, there needs to be more and fast

The weapons are bad? How? Not only is this the most balanced Halo’s for weapons but probably one of the most balanced games ever and I have played a lot of games.

That’s when people usually judge sales. On the first week of launch.

1 the campaign was amazing
2 really bro? the story was awesome it was different and it left you off on a cliff hanger especially if you see the legendary ending
3 with bigger maps they needed sprint. if you think sprint is bad then don’t sprint. plus sprint was in reach and 4 why are you just now complaining about this?
4 the maps are beautiful, and there is a lot of design put into it
5 i used to think that then i got good
6 I agree with this, they care to much about graphics, but on the other had black ops 3 and star wars has good graphics so they needed to look good if they wanted people to buy the game
7 theres a unicorn helmet.
8 bruh, there is no forge because it is the biggest forge yet, its coming out in December, be real here would you rather have a good forge or a forge that was half way done?
9 patience please they are coming.
10 you are mad for the wrong reasons, what you didn’t realize is that Bungie had the same story plans for Halo. yea so if Bungie were still making the game you would be complaining still. so just git gud, like the game for what it is, and have patience, honestly its a good game just be patient.

I think the lack of content at launch drove many players away.

You act like this year did not have a lot of big games dropping, some people don’t buy every big game and choose one over another. the current playerbase will also be lower since people are switching back and forth from games such as fallout or cod
