Halo 5 has sort of a "nazi" problem...

I have been going back and forth with myself if I should post this or call attention to this issue. I’ve looked around and it doesn’t seem like anyone has a brought it up before. But at this point it is popping up at a frequent enough level that I feel like I should post this.

There are a good amount of Halo 5 players who are using an emblem to resemble the -Yoink!- flag with a swastika on it. You know the infamous -Yoink!- symbol within a white circle on a red flag? Yeah that one.

It’s done using the “Runes” emblem and selecting the right colors. Here is an example: Imgur: The magic of the Internet

Now I know it might seem like this might be sensitive and over dramatic, but I have seen this often enough while playing during the past few months I got back into Halo 5 (and from different players, not the same one every time) that I feel like this needs to brought up.
It may seem like I’m stretching, and that the emblem they are using isn’t really meant to be a swastika, but I’ve also seen these players with Service Tags like “N0ZI” and other abhorrent -Yoink- like that. It definitely isn’t the kind of thing anyone wants in Halo, at least that’s how I feel.

Is there anyone who has noticed this? I’ve reported a few players here and there to Xbox Live, but honestly I feel like 343i should know about this and do something. What is the best way to get their attention about this?

yea me too if there on the enemy team just try to cause as much trouble and rage for them for now, i mean, im talking SPAM them until your trigger falls off

I’ve never noticed this in my time playing the game, but of course that doesn’t mean much if you’ve been seeing it fairly constantly. I think reporting the players is the right step if they’re sporting the service tag mentioned; however, I also don’t know if “N0ZI” is meant to represent something else - perhaps something innocent relating to a spartan company. Creating this thread may help bring some attention to 343i about players creating an inappropriate service tag - assuming it means something inappropriate. Maybe 343i can block that particular combination within the service tag in the future to prevent any potential issues like this from re-occurring. I don’t think the emblem is a problem. It really doesn’t represent a swastika in any way and any attempt for a player to represent it as one is a pretty massive stretch of the imagination.

Can’t say that I’ve seen what you’re talking about, emblems or otherwise.

I would say report them if you have to, but don’t let yourself get triggered by 12 year olds who try to be edgy. These kids try everything to be as offensive as possible.

Yeah, often it’s best to just ignore them - chances are they’re just an edgy kid. If they seem too serious though, do report them.

Look, if you can’t handle an emblem then you probably shouldn’t be playing online games. People are edgy online, and that’s always been the case (especially with Halo) as it gets reactions. Nintendo have cracked down on such things (or are going to, I’m not sure which). If that’s the online environment you want, a Switch is likely the better platform for you.

I’d say I’ve seen more people make emblems that look like genitals than I’ve seen of that. But as has already been said, just ignore it. These are people trying to be edgy and get a rise out of others. It isn’t hurting anything and I’d rather that than 343/MS moderate what is or isn’t “offensive.”

Feel free to report any misconduct to xble through the reporting system on each players profile. If you have videos of misconduct you can also report it to the support site.
