Now I don’t know if it known to the public how Microsoft determines the “most popular” XBox games, but I’d imagine it’s either based off the amount of active players playing that game, or amount of positive ratings withing the past month. And since Halo 5 just came out 3 months ago, and Destiny is 2 years old, I’m not surprised.

Destinys last expansion was half a year ago. H5 is 3 months in, I wouldn’t call that “soon before”. Anyways, to the original post, not surprised. Destiny has been having a fallout lately but bungie has had some changes in upper management so maybe that gets fixed sometime soon.

The Taken King DLC is still DLC. It’s not as enticing as an entire game.

Free maps but no playlist yet. BTB is the only one so far and it’s been 3 months. It’s been forever since I’ve played destiny but when content dropped, it had content at least, even if we had to spend so much.

Well, the updates for H5 are paid for, just through REQ Pack purchases.
Even though I’m annoyed that we’re lacking basic content, don’t pretend it’s worse than Destiny. I’ve seen people bash on Halo 5’s free updates (which I understand) while defending what Bungie’s doing. Double standards at its most deceptive.

That’s a bad excuse to try and take away the fact…
You don’t have to buy req points…
So in theory not a single player could buy req points and we would still get the DLC…
Nowhere did they say reqs fund the free DLC they said it helps fund HCS
Free DLC was announced BEFORE reqs if I remember correctly

I think when content is added to Halo slowly but surely over the months (via REQ pack money), Halo 5 will continue to move up the most played list.
Off topic:
I actually love the current system as long as REQ doesn’t flow into arena / BTB / future social playlist / Anything 1v1 through 8v8 that is core Halo in the future. Keep the community together and playing the same modes / maps with 100% free DLC (it needs to be better DLC, but still love the system).
For WZ or WZ-like future modes, REQ is awesome. It provides people with less money free map upgrades (again, as long as 343 releases a map a month or so and it’s not just forged, once it gets rolling) and people with more money a way to basically ‘buy the DLC for other people’.
As an owner of all Halo DLC, I can say that it has been miserable in the past b/c I got wonderful new maps that never showed in MM (b/c all had to own them).
Once it’s not cosmetic only in 4v4 / 8v8, I’m gone. But I don’t think even 343 will do that for awhile.
I’m glad that people care about halo wanting to be a success but this is really based on player preference. It changes all the time.
Destiny is one of those games where once you run out of stuff to farm, you’re stuck with their bad MP for the rest of the week.
It’s no surprise honestly. It will spike on Tuesdays for the resets then drop off again for the week.
