Halo: 5 Guardians Will Play Out Like ODST

Just calling it, but I am almost certain that Halo: 5 Guardians is going to play like ODST in the way that it will be open world and as Locke gets closer to MC, you will switch between playing each.

What makes me believe this is all of the rumors about the game being open world. Secondly, Locke is above the Chief in the poster. This implies Locke will play as large if not a larger part in Guardians than the Chief. Third, we know Locke is searching for the Chief from both trailers and statements made by 343i.

The rest I have is speculation, but in my mind follows a certain set of Logic. We know the Reclaimer saga is going to be 3 games. That means 6 will be the end of the saga. If searching for the Chief doesn’t take up for most of the game, either the search for MC or the great threat Thel was talking about will not be fully developed by the game’s end. This makes me believe the search for MC will take up most of Guardians with the threat being fully realized in Halo 6.

Lastly, we saw the death of Cortana in the previous game. While it may be possible for her to return due to the nature of The Composer technology, it is a long shot. This being said, I believe Chief will perish in Halo 6 as 343i has shown a willingness to kill off characters. This will allow Halo to flourish as an IP outside of Chief. An obvious money making scheme that will happen eventually. With Locke being introduced in this iteration, he could become an important figure in the Halo Universe and replace Chief. We know the Title is preparing to diverge from numbering, why not characters as well?

What does everyone else in the community believe?

I think you will start of as Locke with Arbiter as a Co-Op player with two other ONI Spartans or two other Elites. As you find clues towards finding Chief you play as him in a flashback mission like when he was walking through the desert with the Forerunner bird thing.

I think it will have open world elements but more the Halo: CE levels, not open world but pretty big levels.
