Halo 5 Guardians title. Is there more to it.

So I did some research, and see that all the past games and their titles have a pattern. The main games have have the name Halo and then a number, sans Combat Evolved since it was the first one. But look at Halo 3 ODST, it was a companion game to Halo 3 you could say. So if they still follow this pattern does that mean Guardians, is the only the first part of Halo 5?
Thoughts?

I assume it was intended to serve a double meaning referencing the literal guardians and that the Spartans are acting as guardians.

If there is a twist like that it would definitely be at this years e3 so not long to wait till we find out… Good theory though

Guardians is a step towards dropping the numbered titles from the Halo franchise and moving into titled games, something Bonnie actually wanted to do for Halo 4. She talked about this around the launch of MCC: http://www.gamerheadlines.com/2014/10/halo-5-guardians-detailed-oxm/

Thanks for the info.

Yeah, it would be a little ridiculous to have a game that’s simply called Halo 12. (How many damn Halos are there?)

Yeah, you’re right. Makes sense now.
