Hi guys, I’ve beaten Halo 5 Guardians and I have some questions about the plot holes in the campain story.
We left Halo 4 at the end of Spartan Ops. Jul’Mdama and Catherine Halsey got one of the pieces of the Librarian’s artefact while Spartan Thorne got the other one. Now, this piece of story doesn’t get place in Halo 5 story line. Why? Thanks.

I think the random Master Chief vision was a big one.

I thought so too, but its completely believable Cortana had used the domain to call out to him.
the story is actually pretty solid and you wont find many plotholes. Its how the story was told that makes it so controversial.

There are two large plot holes that I found. not sure if they have been fixed or retconned or what.
The Domain is a Precursor construct. Is it pre Forerunner, and is a complete neural interface. When the Halo array was fired, it destroyed the Domain.
How does Cortana access a destroyed Domain. What about the Domain causes all the Forerunners, rather than Precursors, to automatically fall to her will. And lastly, why no canonical explanantion for Promethan Soldiers
The biggest plot hole for me is, how the hell did blue team just appear? Four games, never heard from them, next thing you know, we are flying around in a pelican.
On escalation Jul, Halsey are at the absolute records clashing with Tanaka, Palmer and in Halo 5 Jul, Halsey are on Kamchatka and all is good between Halsey & Palmer etc. ? Makes no sense.
This game’s story cannot be fully understood by players who do not follow the lore
Thanks for you answers. I really love Halo’s lore but outside from the States is not easy to find all comics, books and stuff related to the franchise. For example in my country, Italy, we have still to wait for the Italian version of these things.
One of them for me was Halsey telling Jul she wanted revenge… but then called out to Oni to help her out?
I managed to get my hands on Halo Escalation and honestly the story is better than in Halo 5.
I’m really disappointed about this game, I can’t belive it.

There’s still a little tension between them but it is definitely not focused on as much as it could have been. I guess you can sum it up with Palmer just following her orders to work with Halsey for now. They very much downplayed the fact that both sides, while greatly disliking each other, need each other to figure out this Guardian situation.
