What you wish to see in Guardians and whay? firefight for me is just bather and more popular, but that is just my opinion…
Why not both?
The discs can hold enough information now for that to be possible. I’d rather have Spartan Ops 2.0 and Firefight 3.0. Both have their values.
I wouldn’t mind seeing something brand new or maybe a combination of the two? I don’t know to be honest. I want something that can last a while.
I’d much rather have Firefight. Much more replay value especially with the customization Reach had. The only good thing about Spartan Ops was the cinematics. Though even those were meh for me.
The transition from gameplay to the cinematics always felt awkward when it showed Spartans going head to head with Prometheans and the Spartans could shake off shots form the hyper advanced killing machines, but apparently 21st century firearms could bring the Prometheans down in one hit. And then when a Spartan and Elite get into a fight they look like slow, lumbering, fools when they’re both supposed to be far faster than humanly possible.

You said it, I was thinking it!
Firefight didn’t take itself too seriously, it was pretty basic, and that’s where the value was IMHO. It was continuous waves of enemies, with varying objectives, loadouts, lives, and enemy progressions. The commendations were befitting Reach’s great commendation system, and encouraged a lot of return play.
SpOps … In order to be successful, it needs better maps, more interesting commendations, more focus on multiplayer instead of solo games. It had none of these things, and I can’t distinguish a single episode from the other. The only saving grace, IMHO were the CGI cutscenes.
This is a big one for me… a standoff-style fight. Letting the enemy come to you in waves while you mow them down wasway more engaging than moving all over the same maps again and again, picking off enemies from distance. This is probably the biggest strength of Firefight over Spartan Ops.
I love the replayability of Firefight, and I thoroughly enjoy the idea of an episodic story that was given to us in Firefight. Sure, Spartan Ops wasn’t fantastic as it was, although the second half was arguably a huge improvement, but given the time and manpower that it needs, it can turn into something great.
Honestly, I’ll be disappointed if we don’t see the return of both Firefight and Spartan Ops, as they both have their values and are definitely things that can and should be implemented into Halo 5.
I would say SpOps, it does need improvements, but I think it can be what we all wanted it to be when we first saw The Cauldron. However, I’d be all for a combo of the two, maybe something similar to Warface Co-op matches.
If Spartan Ops isn’t -Yoink- this time around and if Reed stops writing terrible stories with some of the worst dialogue I’ve ever seen then I’ll have some Spops
And since that isn’t going to happen, I’ll take Firefight please
I would prefer to see both make a return but if I was forced to choose one it would be firefight.
Can this be a poll? Also Firefight. I vote for it owo
A second Campaign designed for four-player co-op would be cool, but it should bear more resemblance to Campaign than Firefight.
What I liked about Spartan Ops is that it was like an objective-based Firefight. So take Firefight, add objectives, and you’ve got even more replay value.

Like a very advanced version of invasion. I like where this is going.
While I’d like to see both (and am expecting to see both), if I had to choose one, it’d be Spartan Ops.
Sure, SpOps was horrible executed in Halo 4, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t bad in concept. In my opinion, Spartan Ops offers far more than Firefight provided that it is implemented correctly.

I can get behind that.

I was just thinking of this! If they make a new Spartan Ops I hope they make more then just one season for it on Halo 5.
I always hate to see things removed from a game/franchise entirely instead of having them be fixed/balanced. In an ideal world, we could have both Firefight and Spartan Ops.
But if I absolutely had to choose between the two, Firefight wins hands down. I fell in love with it in ODST and while Reach gave us a lot of great options, it didn’t give us quite as many as I’d have liked (and several of the maps were terrible). Bring back Firefight with more options than ever before and give us more maps that make you feel like your back is literally against the wall and there’s nowhere to run.
Spartan OPS. Mostly for the fact that it kept the story going even after the campaign. If they were to throw in the cinematics without Spartan OPS then Firefirght easily.
Spartan OPS, but only if it could be more like a second campaign and not some dragged out excuse to put story into firefight, then alright.
In my opinion they should release one bigger and unique mission each second or third week instead of five lame mission all at once every week.
Imagine if they’d create a second campaign with a release scheduel like the one above, where we would play as the Arbiter and follow his journey on Sanghelios or something like that. Halo 5 would be a win from the start
Having both would be great. But I would like to see Spartan Ops return, it pushes the story forward.
If Spartan Ops does return it needs to feel like a true secondary Campaign, rather then Firefight with a story.
