Halo 5: Guardians Soundtracks

Who SHOULD make HALO 5: Guardians’ Soundtracks?

Neil Davidge from HALO 4.

or

Martin O’Donnell and Michael Salvatori from all the previous HALOs

Kazuma Jinnouchi has been confirmed to be the Lead Composer for Halo 5: Guardians. Whether or not Neil Davidge is having a role is uncertain at the time, but given that he works on a lot of different stuff, I think its unlikely.

As for your question, to choose between Neil or Marty and Mike, I’m not sure. They’re both fantastic. Martin O’Donnell and Micheal Salvatori’s music is extremely epic, while Neil goes out of his way to establish themes for the plot.

There’s not way that I could choose between the 2 poll options, both composers have produced some amazing and iconic music. So it’s at times like this when I weigh out the options in both hand … and then slap them together
I don’t know if my ears could stand the potential awesomeness if Marty, Mike, Neil and Kazuma all got together to work on this. I’m sure though that whatever comes out next year, it will still be amazing.

It isn’t the composer I’m wondering about. More the way they are going to implant it.

Halo 4 has the music way to soft and then too loud. Or the Forerunner sounds overshadow it completely.

Kazuma Jinnouchi being the main composer is a good thing after Halo 4 OST Volume 2.

1 track on the first soundtrack isn’t enough to determine if he’s good. But he has very good work one the second volume so no worries there

But OT: I hope Neil still does some music. I love the way he builds his music and it fits the Forerunner Theme really well IMO

I’m less concerned about WHO is going to do the music now, and rather more concerned about how it is going to be handled in the game. If the audio director for this game is going to be anything like Halo 4’s, then sorry to say, but Halo 5 is going to flop in the music department, just as its predecessor did.

Bring back Marty and hire Hanz Zimmer. Problem solved really.

Sotaro Tojima was the Audio Director. Needless to say, although the weapon sounds (most) were great, it was his task to oversee the implementation of the OST into the game, and he completely FAILED to ensure that Chief’s joint movements didn’t flush out the music.

Kazuma Jinnouchi.

No, no, no, and no!

Kazuma is the lead composer on H5G? Someone give me a source, please. I think someone’s getting confused with Sotaro Kojima as audio director, which is a completely different job.

Also, Tom Salta.

Kazuma Jinnouchi is in fact the lead composer for Halo 5: Guardians and he will be doing the vast majority of the soundtrack, as opposed to the few tracks he did for Halo 5. Sotaro Tojima is the audio director. He is not in charge of music. He is in charge of slipping it into the game and making sure that it can be heard(Something that needs some tweaking if Halo 4 is any indication.) as well as the sound effects that are in the game. Two completely different roles. Neil Davidge was a temporary composer because they needed to get the soundtrack started and they had yet to hire their in-house composer, Kazuma. Now that they have him in place, he can take his place as the primary composer for the franchise going forward. Though I wouldn’t mind some assistance from Tom Salta and Marty(As a contractor. I highly doubt he’ll become and in-house composer again after what happened with Bungie.).

Tojima* It wasn’t just the fact that the music was barely audible over the dialogue and sound effects in the game, but also the fact that the absolute WRONG parts of the soundtrack were used for key scenes of the game. I’ll link this video as an example of what i mean. If a mere fan could do so much of a better job at implementing the music, to this degree, then i believe that it speaks wonders about the credibility of a supposedly “professional” audio director such as Tojima.

Do tell me, whatever is your problem with Hans Zimmer?
