So I’ve been wondering, how many copies of Halo 5: Guardians have been sold since launch til today in 2018 (both physical and digital sales)? Last I heard 343 said they sold 5 million+ copies. Also, what does everyone think about the games population today? Anyone have any estimates as to how many people are still playing?
I don’t think sales in Australia are very good, my local game shop says hardly anyone is buying H5 and hasn’t for a while… Just a guess but I’ll suggest that the Aussie online population is extremely low and everyone I talk to has played it but not interested anymore having moved on to other games… shame really.
Right now halo 5 is the 23rd most played game on the Xbox one. Unfortunately there is not a population counter but here is what I’ve come up with. Black ops 2 is the 26th most played game on the Xone, and it does have a population counter. At peak times it has 20-25k players and I’ve seen it as low as 5k in the early A.M. hours for NA. so ive kind of estimated that halo 5 has probably 30-40k players at peak hours on average and can have as low as 8-10k at non peak hours (early morning). For honor is the 22nd most played game but I don’t own it so I don’t know if it has a population counter or not, but if it does that will give a closer estimate of what the halo 5 numbers are. Now these numbers may be a little off, but it sure is a good estimate. Halo 5 is 2 1/2 years old almost. A lot of people love halo but there is also so many other new games to compete with. As for the sales it’s sold a little more than 5 million physical copies.and who know how many digital. Could be another few million. Halo still has a good population but there matchmaking system is so aggravating, if you try playing in non peak hours you could be waiting 5 mins or longer. Many people including myself make “smurfs” or alternate accounts to get faster games.
