So with all the rumors looking like Halo: MCC is coming to PC (with an announcement happening today of Halo: MCC news), I wanted to make a post here if there is still a possibility now that the full game of Halo 5 Guardians should also come to PC as well. Yes I know last year it got shut down if it was coming (because of box art that was not really changed in the end), but if 343 is promoting there games now finally coming to the PC, do you think that it should now and should we be begging for it? We got Halo 5 Forge on PC, which like half of the game is there already, now its just adding in campaign and multiplayer.
The latest Wndows 10 Insider Build seems to have XBox One Emulator files, and Insiders testing it have been able to download and play State of Decay which comes in XBox One File Format from the XBox Store, not the Windows Store.
Now sometimes they do “a trial run of an idea” to test it and then remove it before the Update launches, but so far it’s still there only weeks from Launch. But it is in keeping with Microsoft’s larger idea to merge XBox and PC into one platform and merge the XBox and Wndows Store games into one Store.
So, we don’t know if 343i/Microsoft might one day announce a full PC Version of MCC and Halo 5: Guardians, but even if not, wait till April 10 and watch out for “XBox One Emulator on Windows 10 Spring Update 2019” news, because PC Gamers could then play and catch up with all the stories of Halo 1-5 via the XBox Emulator on PC, all as part of the build-up for the launch of Halo Infinite on PC as well as XBox One.
I think people would want a proper port for PC rather than an actual emulated Halo 5 from the Xbox but thats my opinion.
Maybe in the future after Infinite releases. Right now we can’t even get bug fixes for this game.

Yes, I know what you mean, I’m a long-time PC Gamer from the original Unreal days myself (back in the mists of time before Halo began)! A full-on PC Game with full PC Settings would be great, but for those who want to at least play the games and know the stories before Infinite arrives, an XBox Emulator is better than nothing - a case of the old “Is your cup half full (XBox Emulator), or half empty (not a full PC game)?”
There’s always a chance it could happen at some point, but not in the near future. With Reach, MCC on PC and Infinite, 343 have already got quite a lot going on. Once that calms down I could potentially see it
Opinion it’s only a matter of when, I figure 343 wants to get everyone caught up story wise before Infinite launches. I could see a early 2020 release at the earliest for Halo 5 on PC.
Maybe they will release just the campaign on PC? Just a thought… Well with the staggered releases of the MCC coming on PC, I don’t think at this point we will see this on PC probably not until after Halo Infinite is released I imagine.
I came here to see if anyone else was thinking along the same lines. I almost feel horrible asking for it after the great announcement, but it does stick out sorely. Being able to play Reach-4, not 5 and then INF seems a bit odd. I’d like to see it, mainly so I can finally sell my xbox and have one less console and play them all in one place lol.
H3: ODST Firefight mode didn’t get announced so not quite a complete collection.
If they where to announce anything it would be after MCC is released on PC. Since they said they want to release the games in chronological order Halo 5 will be the last game to be ported there. And who knows, maybe ODST firefight will finally be released as well.
I still wanna see H3 ODST Firefight
