As the title suggests, the game feels more like a Alpha Test as opposed to a full beta test. After playing a few rounds of the game, thats the impression I get of the game. I feel as though a lot of work has still to be done and the game should maybe be delayed another year to fix the issues and mechanics of the game. I don’t want to go into a rant about halo 5 because its pointless here(It happens so often and I know everyones tired of all the ranting that goes on around here). So I will stick with a few point form suggestions for some beta test feedback/complaints/etc.
- Pointless mechanics: Charge, Slide, and to some degree Ground pound are extremely underutilized in the game as it stands. It would be probably be best to remove Charge and Slide functions as they serve to add little to the game and people hardly use them. Ground pound is iffy, I don’t see alot of people using it in game and it seems to get people killed a lot because of the hover moment before it activates.- Hydra MLRS: Its really OP even for a power weapon. Saw one game where one guy got 30 kills and basically won the match single handedly with the Hydra. The way I see it, the Hydra is basically the plasma launcher except with faster projectiles, insanely accurate lock on(Missiles are somehow able to track and get direct hits around corners when the hydra user can’t even see you). Could stand to be Nerfed- slow movement speed: Slight buff to the movement/sprint speed of the spartans would be nice. As well as the Sangheili character models made available.- Remove no shield regen on sprint: instead of Sprint not allowing shields to regen, it would probably be better that shields regenerate slower than normal when sprinting as oposed to no regen whatsoever.- Descope Extremely jerky: It seems when descoping, the effect is extremely jerky and far less fluid than in prior halos, causing player death.- plastic Spartans, Again: The spartans look somewhat better admittedly, but the armor still looks like it is made of plastic though, the Prerender visuals were far better looking than the visual product ingame. Also, The Energy sheilds are quite dull, could stand to be brighter and look more like energy than bright yellow plastic.- Weapon sounds: After coming from Halo 2A and the amazing sound design present there, Really makes me wonder what happened in H5. The sounds just lack, I don’t know, Punch. Also, the sounds of the weapons seem to rather blur together as they all sound very, very similar to one another. the One thing about Halo 4 that I did kinda like was the sound design of the Human weapons, they sounded powerful and like they could tear through solid steel with ease. Not getting that feeling with H5 guns.
Just some thoughts and opinions, just wanted to get my thoughts out.
