I hope this isn’t true. Http://uproxx.com/gammasquad/2014/05/the-last-halo-why-halo-5-guardians-will-end-the-series/
If Halo dies I moving on to Sony! Their seems to be a bigger community on PlayStation anyways! But I’m so in love with halo I never lefts Xbox(s).
The only thing that article is using to support that Halo will end with Guardians is that the Xbox One doesn’t need Halo to sell.
But that doesn’t mean Halo will end. Call of Duty, for example, keeps on going, and it isn’t “essential” to any platform.
Even if Xbox doesn’t “need” Halo, it will still be the flagship title and will still be supported.
Unless the game and its marketing support (TV Show) bombs, of course.
That article is pure speculation without any solid facts about why Halo 5: Guardians will be the final Halo title.
Halo is Microsoft’s baby and no matter how bad the previous game turned out, with the right marketing - the next one will ALWAYS sell a ton.
I don’t think I need to also remind you that with the announcement of Halo 4, they originally called it “The Reclaimer Trilogy” but later renamed it to “The Reclaimer Saga” as they wanted to make it known that the games weren’t the only way to learn about the story.
Trilogy = 3
Halo 4, Halo 5: Guardians and whatever Halo 6 turns out to be called.
Halo won’t be ending at least until 2018 when Halo 6 rolls around.
> If Halo dies I moving on to Sony! Their seems to be a bigger community on PlayStation anyways! But I’m so in love with halo I never lefts Xbox(s).
That’s really the only thing holding me here, as well. If Halo does die unfortunately. Than, I’ll be buying a PS4 real quick, lol.
Let’s look at the sections of that article:
-The Xbox One Doesn’t Need Halo
-You’re Going To Be Pretty Damn Sick Of Halo By Fall 2015
-A Series In The Past
343i has said that this would originally be a new trilogy and later a saga. It’s all really an opinion piece explaining why Microsoft doesn’t need Halo anymore. The title itself is just clickbait
> Halo 4 wasn’t a failure, and moved nine million copies. But ask anybody who can read NPD numbers: It didn’t sell any Xbox 360s.
Of course it didn’t sell any 360s. The console had been out for 5-6 years at this point. Anyone who was going to buy Halo 4 already had one.
> But Halo 5 is going to put them all to shame, because that’s when the TV series, Microsoft’s big attempt to make Halo mainstream with names like Steven Spielberg, hits Showtime.
>
> That will likely mark the point where all but the hardcore have had enough. It’s hard to make a TV series work in the first place, and to be honest, it doesn’t really have a lot to work with.
Now see, this doesn’t make any sense. Why exactly would a TV show push people over the edge. If I recall correctly people were very excited for the Halo movie that was happening (but never released) a few years ago. I’m not seeing how this would be any different. In fact having big names like Spielberg ought to attract more attention, not push it away.
And saying there’s not much to work with is silly. People create TV shows and stories out of nothing. This one already has an entire universe and plethora of characters set in place. It’s not exactly hard to come up with a TV story for the Halo timeline, especially considering how little we know about the Human-Covenant war and the surrounding times.
> The series has never needed more than a thin excuse to shoot at the aliens (or your friends) and make them fall down, so it’s never really developed anything that makes it unique.
And assassins creed doesn’t need much of an excuse to have you stab templars. CoD doesn’t need more than a thin excuse to make you shoot Russians, -Yoink!-’s and/or Terrorists. Mario has almost zero reason for stomping on Goombas all day. What’s your point? They’re still pretty unique.
> And the series is showing its age. Halo, when the fifth game comes out, will be pushing fifteen years old as a franchise. Gaming franchises rarely age well, and Halo has a problem in that it’s kept aiming squarely at fourteen-year-olds over that decade and a half.
Game franchise rarely go well? Are you sure about that?
Alright, so how about Pokemon? Mario? Metroid? Anything nintendo really? How about Call of Duty? Street fighter? Battlefield? The Elder Scrolls?
I mean really now. Game franchises don’t go well my foot.
… Anyway, that was a rather opinionated article written by someone who if I had to guess was trying to get a reaction out of people. Most (if not all) of it was opinion and speculation. Not really worth paying much attention to.
It’s already been confirmed that the Reclaimer Saga is at least a trilogy, if not more. This article is poor speculation with no facts whatsoever to back it up.
Seems like heavily opinionated article with someone who got their trousers in a knot over something. We were told we were going to have a trilogy. So we are going to have a trilogy.
> The title itself is just clickbait
Gasp
Never!
Rule #5:
Don’t believe everything you read on the internet.

Bonnie Ross stated in the announcement last week that Halo was part of Xbox itself. That seems pretty indicative of dedication.
If that article is based off any reasonable evidence, then it’s very, very, small.
> The series has never needed more than a thin excuse to shoot at the aliens (or your friends) and make them fall down, so it’s never really developed anything that makes it unique.
And you dare linking this -Yoink- on Halo Waypoint?
As someone who has read 13 books, a journal, dozens of comics, all the other documents from limited editions, seen lots of videos, cartoons, a web series, I can definitely say he doesn’t know what he is writing about.
If you doubt this, visit the “halo universe” section once, you will discover that there is a universe beyond “i don’t want AAs” “Remove sprint”…
“Reclaimer Trilogy”
yeah no.
> I hope this isn’t true. Http://uproxx.com/gammasquad/2014/05/the-last-halo-why-halo-5-guardians-will-end-the-series/
I don’t know who these people are.
Halo is not going anywhere…
Just like Cortana is a part of John, Halo is a part of Xbox.
The article is wrong. As others have already said 343’s games have been called the “Reclaimer Saga” which means there will be 3 or more games (was originally a trilogy).

Just to drive the point home:
Final Fantasy, Wolfenstein, Sonic, basically anything super-hero related, the Tony Hawk series, Crash Bandicoot, 007 games, Rainbow Six, Mortal Kombat, every single sports simulation game, Cabela’s, The Sims, Tomb Raider, Star Wars games…
There’s plenty more but I think that’s enough for now. As for the fourteen year old comment, Halo has always had an M rating (except for Halo Wars and possibly Spartan Assault) so technically speaking 14 year olds shouldn’t even be playing it. Not to mention Halo has more or less successfully retained its original fan base.
Improbable.
