Halo 5 Guardians is a disappointment.

Halo 5 was and still is a disappointment, it’s just not Halo anymore. Look at the sales, it is the lowest selling Halo of all time! 343i hasn’t taken care of our beloved franchise, sure they give us free dlc (A huge positive) ,but Halo has lost its speciality. I understand Halo has to evolve, but there are better options than blending the game into others. There was a poll on here a while back that asked if Halo 6 should have Sprint. Roughly it was 3/4 yes. So that’s an overwhelming yes. But how many veterans are still following Halo? Look at Halo 3 with around 14 million sales, Halo 5 has almost 4 million. That’s a 10 million sale difference, obvisouly hardcore fans have moved on to other competition. Personally, Sprint does not belong in Halo. Most of these new Spartan abilities shouldn’t be in the game, I feel that Thruster and Clamber would work well. Classic maps could come back without Sprint. Imagine Lockout or Guardian from Halo 3 in Halo 5, right now it is impossible. Is Sprint holding back Halo then? Not all of it but Halo isn’t the same franchise as we once knew it, sadly it probably won’t return back to its glory days. Halo 6 will be the first Halo game that I won’t buy day one. Feel free to leave your thoughts, after all I’m a kid just criticizing on the internet.

Also, the req system may have made more money than any of the previous games. Maybe.

Yea worst halo…

Grab TMCC I guess. Honestly those old Halo’s haven’t aged well at all. When is the last time you played one? Halo 5 is great, doesn’t matter to me how many copies sold. i don’t need sales numbers to convince me I like it.

This is my deal. I didn’t play the old Halos because “omg EVERYONE is play Halo, gotta jump on the bandwagon”. I played because it was fun shooting the Covenant and the Flood and driving Warthogs. Now it’s fun to shoot Covenant and Prometheans and other Spartans.

Besides the fact that your highest rank is Diamond 1, and you have barely over 16 hours played in Halo 5;

Why don’t you:

  1. Come back when you have at least 3 days played because then you will have actually thoroughly experienced everything the game has to offer.
And 2. Make another educated post when you’re good enough to play at a competitive level which will give you the credibility to say what does and doesn’t work for competitive play.

With this said I’ve been playing Halo since release week of H3 (Service record proves it) as well as every other Halo competitively, and i thoroughly enjoy Halo 5.

But hey, you won’t give the game a chance and i can’t change your mentality.

Hey look guys another rare sight of the i hate 343 amd halo 5 forum post ohhhhhhhhhhhhh wait those post are all over these forums.

Your argument presumes that original-trilogy players are all still just sitting around somewhere waiting for Halo to return to its roots. They’re most of them not. In 2001 the average gamer was a lot younger than he his now - he was probably a teenager. Fast forward fifteen years and that kid likely has a full-time job, a wife, maybe some kids of his own, maybe a mortgage. In his early thirties, he’s now the “average age” of gaming. But he still doesn’t have the time to put into it that teenagers do. This is why games are designed around the reflexes, attitudes, preferences, and finances of thirteen year-olds. This is why HCS champs have skin problems and not prostate problems.

I respect that you prefer old Halo to new Halo, but disc sales are meaningless in an age where a huge percentage of owners opted to download. Dislike the game if you do, but don’t think for a minute that 4 million is a real number, and don’t think that you need back up from suspect statistics in order to vindicate your opinion. You don’t. You’re entitled to dislike the game whether or not anyone else does.

I have played CE-3 recently.

Excellent games. They’re still just as fun to play today.

I think it’s a good game, but I don’t think it should be a Halo game, it doesn’t feel like Halo to me.

This community is a disappointment. Halo 3 had the best community I’ve ever been a part of. Now…it’s just complete -Yoink-.

Hard to sell copies when X1 sales aren’t doing that well either. Almost unfair to compare sales figures from two generations

Yea Microsoft is so dissapointed with their REQ system free DLC moneymaker. So much so they cancelled Halo forever.

lets assume the game cost 60 USD that translates to about 6.5m copies

there are 78.2 million xbox 360s in the wild as of 2011 according to wikipedia so halo 3 is owned by approx 28% of all xbox 360 owners.

there are around 20m xbox ones sold as of early this year. which means about 32.5% of all xbox one owners have halo 5

according to math halo 5 sold better then halo 3.

Usually when a game sells a bunch of copies it will release the numbers to show the public how popular the game is. Since 343 hasnt released the population could shows that they are embarrassed about how many people play the game and don’t want to be humilatied.

Yet many AAA titles don’t release sales figures for games anyway. I don’t remember any sales numbers for Black Ops 3 or AC Syndicate. The only thing I’ve seen recently that has anything to do with sales is the amount of copies GTA V has shipped. Which is fine, because the amount of copies shipped is something Rockstar can actually track. How are Microsoft and 343 supposed to know how many copies Amazon sold out of the total supply, how many copies Gamestop sold, etc.
