halo 5 guardians for windows

Hello, I would like to know if halo 5 guardians for windows will be released?

There is Halo 5: Forge for PC. But if you want the full game, you’re out of luck. You’ll have to get the Xbox One version and an Xbox One console in order to play it.

It’s gonna come to PC at some point, alongside MCC.
Microsoft would have to be run by idiots if they didn’t recognize the potential to make hundreds of thousands of sales by porting the game to PC.

Halo 3, Halo 3 ODST, Halo Reach, and Halo 4 would like to have a word with you.

Eh…
Considering that Halo 6 is slated for a PC release, I can’t see why MCC wouldn’t get one.

I think they want to fix the MCC before even considering trying for a PC release…

That didn’t stop them from releasing it in the first place.
Regardless, it will come to PC at some point. There’s a lot of profits MS is missing out on.

Well, that’s the problem. Microsoft hasn’t seen many profits with their PC ports.

A few examples would be:

  • Halo 2 Vista
-------servers were shut down (now sort of reopened) due to lack of players
  • Gears of War PC
-------had major port issues, as well as laggy online connection issues
  • Halo Wars PC port
-------was reported with multiple load errors, as well as multiple crashes during gameplay

In short, MS is trying again with the PC ports, with some mild success with Halo Wars 2 and Gears of War 4, but it’s still not meeting the expectations they expected.

The Halo fan base is pretty alive on PC. SPV3 came out just recently, and it’s en masse downloads prove it’s popularity, as well as Halo CE and 2 still having active servers
The other issue is two fold: both of those games are designed for a controller, and both are Windows Store Exclusive, which is not well thought of by the PC community.
Glitches aside, those two issues usually kill the hype for PC players.

If MS just put their games on Steam, and delayes them until they were ready, profits would be a lot higher.

I think they will. They are going to have to break down the wall between PC and Xbox eventually. I can see why Playstation is the way it is, but Microsoft uses crossplay as a marketing tool for windows 10, and they should. There too many devices to play games on now and they can’t expect xbox console exclusives to compete if they don’t allow crossplay or at least release their games on PC.

Very unlikely. Halo 5 belongs and should stay as a Xbox exclusive

Don’t look up the news for Halo 6, then.

Keep in mind that Halo was initially conceived as a third person shooter for the Mac, and most Halo’s good innovations come from the PC version. Namely, online multiplayer and Forge.

Microsoft loses nothing by putting 5 on PC, and can only gain from porting it.

Halo 6 matchmaking with pc population = broken = R.I.P competitiveness = cheaters = modders = piracy = +99% toxic community = NO.

NO

k?

kthxbye

Excluding the port quality, all of those games performed badly because of MS forcing their terrible online services on them. GFWL killed H2 PC, and the Windows Store is doing the same for the others.

Halo CE’s PC port did very well because it was a decent port and didn’t have any awful online service required to play it. They just need to follow the example they set themselves.

They will have to. PC’s capable of outperforming an Xbox are getting cheaper and cheaper. Other than Halo why would you need an xbox? A PC can do everything an xbox can do, is upgradeable, and doesn’t require Gold. PS4 has a much larger player base and has mostly the same games as xbox, Switch has unique games and is a hybrid tablet/console, what does Xbox offer? They have to take advantage of Microsoft’s PC market and expand on the “game anywhere” idea or risk fading away.

Edit: I do agree that they need to streamline the gaming services on other devices. Xbox live works well on console (mostly). Expanding that to other devices would help.

Trying to make sense of… That…
I can pretty much guarantee you that the communities will be kept seperate, as the PC players will dominate the console players , and the console players will cry foul.

Competitive play ruined Halo 5.

Cheating and modding likely won’t be tolerated. Anyone who alters the game files will probably be banned. Or that’s how I’d handle it.

Who on earth would want to pirate a game who’s main pull is online multiplayer, something you can’t play if you pirate?

If you’re going to make a point, at least write something semi-coherent. Besides, Halo 6 is confirmed for a PC release. Not much anyone can do about it now.

forge was officially released but an official full-game patch is… unlikely
