Halo 5: Guardians February Update

What we need in the February Update of Halo 5: Guardians:

  1. More Gametypes (like Oddball, Infection, King of the Hill…)
  2. The option to see your medals
  3. More new Maps (not more remixes)
  4. The option to create and change a spartan company In-Game
  5. Warzone REQs in Forge (like the answer or the ONI-Scorpion)
  6. Fix the File-Browser

And dedicated EU-Server!

We need a bit more of REQ-Points per Match:

Swat = 800 REQ-Pionts
Slayer = 1000 REQ-Points
Breakout = 900 REQ-Points
Big Team Slayer = 1300 REQ-Points
Warzone = 2300 REQ-Points

Does anyone really think that 343i are listening are even changing anything?
Feb update will inlude 50+ REQs and one more Arena map and one more Warzone map.
I would be really happy if these 2 maps are new and not more remixes.

They really need to up their game and add file browser-to-website functionality like Bungie had back in 2007. It’s been such an effort backwards. I remember downloading so many maps - so quickly - without even having my Xbox on. Now, it’s a complex chore to do and you can only do it on your Xbox - very slowly.

Thats a very good idea too!

Yeah, I would pretend to work in the school library while I was really downloading maps and skimming forums

I think that is a good summary of things we need in Halo 5 next month!

We need real Big Team Slayer maps and not this horrible forge maps like Antifreeze or Deadlock…

I want serious weapon skins in the February Update!
Not this strange pizza or rainbow Skins,
I need tundra and technological Skins!

Everyone acts like there is some unknown force - maybe the market - making Halo less popular, when it’s very clearly obvious, basic community features such as these that have been missing or incomplete for years under 343. Everyone I knew downloaded files from Bnet on a consistent basis. Half of said people are now playing Destiny. Hmm.

Well people keep defending this game and only those types will remain with Halo and I would care less because I would move to something new and fresh or something that grabs my attention.

The biggest complaint: Add in some game modes. Infection, Oddball, King of the Hill, Grifball, Ricochet, Assault, Regicide, Juggernaut, those would all be well received additions and give us the need for a proper team objective playlist and could even spice up FFA.

You want to give us weapon skins? Give us proper, practical camouflage and color patterned weapons. I am sick of looking at two clashing colors and am appalled at the sight of PIZZA.

Allow all special req items to be used in forge. Maybe we could get a new take on BTB Heavies into matchmaking if we had stuff like the Ultra Ghost or ONI Warthog to put on maps. The Prophets Bane in the beta was also the only time I got to use the thing. Hell, suped up variants of existing arena maps could have weapons altered to have a crazy REQ filled action-sack ish playlist built from it.

Speaking of BTB, give us about five DEVELOPER maps made with actual game assets and not in Forge. Also remove Antifreeze, it’s -Yoinking!- awful. Also put the actually GOOD remakes into matchmaking if you want to have Forged maps in there. That goes for both normal Arena and BTB.

Fix Warzone. Re-evaluate what req levels certain things can be used at. Fuel Rods at level 4? NORMAL CARBINES AS POWER WEAPONS? I swear if I do all the work to whittle down a boss’s health one more time and the enemy team steals the kill one more time… Make it so that bosses are walking point banks and small portions of the points are distributed to the team that does damage. The killer gets bonus points but it’s not enough for the other team to complain about it unless the match is really close.

That might have had a hand in it.

But you honestly can’t tell me that the market doesn’t have anything to do with it. Halo 2 was as explosively popular as it was because of it being the only shooter that had online multiplayer, among other features that weren’t a part of the original Xbox and subsequently became a part of the 360. Halo 3 was more likely than not riding straight off that momentum.

I mean, even at launch, Halo: Reach didn’t pull in the kind of numbers the other two had. And that’s because the market was more varied.

In the case of Halo 5, there are genuine issues, though they’re not nearly as troublesome as some of the others I’ve had over the years. A lot of people are still turned off by Reach and 4, however. Which is further compounded by the fact that H5 had to compete with so many other heavy-hitting titles in a short space of time. And really, if you believe that Halo 5 could withstand the hype of Fallout 4, Battlefront, Tomb Raider, a Treyarch Call of Duty, etc. All within a single month, then go on to say that the market has no effect… Well, I don’t know what to tell you then.

Even if it did have these community features, that wouldn’t have made any difference with the games that launched so close to it.

I’d like to see the falcon, a btb playlist that is actually big(er) we know the engine can handle 12v12 lets have a 12v12 pvp. Other playlists like snipers, doubles and multi team. This surely cannot be hard. Action sack would be cool, they’re mainly community creations anyway.

I’m usually not one to conflate correlation with causation, but nothing correlates so extremely to 343’s lack of what made the first 3 Halos, and Reach to a lesser extent, the games that they were. Reach fits into this equation, being that it reached insane numbers at launch - akin to the numbers Halo 3 was getting - but quickly dwindled in comparison to Halo 2 and 3 - because the gameplay and what people expected from Halo was just not entirely there. 343 took this to the extreme. I find the correlation to be much more convincing than market arguments being that Halo 3 faced a much more compelling market than Halo 4 or Halo 5.

I’m not gonna go further into it because it’s a tad off-topic and they want to contain this type of talk to the population thread. I really shouldn’t have mentioned that in the first place but it’s so frustrating, so I apologize.

My educated guess on what we’re getting:
-Griffball
-Gravity Hammer
-3 or 4 Forge maps for Griffball
-Community Forge social playlist
-Remix of The Rig
