Halo 5: Guardians... Elites

I think that Elites should be added in as free dlc post launch. 343i said that Elites will not be playable AT LAUNCH, they didn’t say that they were NEVER playable. Some of my favorite memories of Halo were playing as an Elite, if Elites are added in the game it will create a more “diverse” game. Some people say that it would be weird to see an Elite ground pound but I think it wouldn’t. I think it would look perfectly natural for an Elite to do a ground pound. When a Spartan does a ground pound jets go off on the back of their suits, Elites also have this. I believe it’s the Ranger that has this ability. You can see it in action on Cario Station in Halo 2 and in Halo: Reach with the jetpack ability. All 343i would need to do is work on some little animations, armor, maybe an H2A Arbiter armor set, and a User Interface, then send it out as dlc. Please 343 putting elites in the game does nothing but boost the diversity in Halo 5. Post what you think about Elites being in or out of Halo 5: Guardians, I’d love to hear your thoughts.

If Elites are added, who says they have to have the same abilities Spartans have?

I’m not a big fan of the Xenos, but if they were added I would think the best bet would be to craft abilities that reflect their combat doctrines and culture rather than simply copy and paste. Naturally they should be larger as well, not limited to the Spartan-sized hitbox.

That’s fine… for customs/forge.

That’s a great idea!

And would never be implemented for online multiplayer. So really, itd only be for customs and forge

I doubt they would just put them in unless it was some sort of expansion pack like Hunters in the Dark. It would be too simple just to allow people to add them in, but if they made a reason to put them in like an expansion pack, then I can see it happening.

But either way, I wouldn’t hold your breath.

Elites are fun. I had a great time playing as them in Halo 2, 3, and Reach.

I’d like to see a custom version of warzone, cept instead of spartans vs spartans vs prometheans, it would be spartans vs elites vs prometheans…might be pretty cool. Almost like a warzone version of Halo Reach’s invasion mode.

i agree with u 100%

That sounds so badass.

People who want to play as them in every mode but still keep the game balanced.

You could still keep it balanced while still adding some of their own flavor.

I wouldn’t mind Sangheili having seperate abilities and physical characteristics for more lore driven playlists such invasion, warzone, and firefight. But they need to be identical in competitive playlists to avoid the Halo 3 debacle.

That sounds perfectly reasonable to me. Oh I remember the Halo 3 issues with the hunchbacks…it was a great game, just not without it’s fair share of issues.

I don’t like it. I don’t like the hit boxes. I don’t like the elites period. They were only a gimmick to add an extra dimension to the campaign, and to multiplayer. They were never great at being able to be killed. I can no scope the crap out of every spartan, yet an elite can essentially dodge a bullet without moving. It’s ridiculous. Unless they somehow fix the elite to be the same size (not happening), the same hit boxes (not happening), and how would you help with the sprinting? The hover? The spartan bomb thing? Or the spartan charge? They just won’t work in Halo 5 guys. Not being a buzzkill, being honest.

The entire point of getting rid of the spartan abilities was too keep everyone on the same even ground. You having the ability to choose another character that then has new abilities is EXACTLY what they didn’t want to happen.

i’m inclined to agree

I loved the diversity of Halo 3, made it more fun in my opinion, at this point I doubt they will ever be playable. But I still hope they will be added later, even in a limited way.

I have a good feeling that 343 will add Elites to Halo 5 at some point. They stated that they aren’t in because they ran out of time.resources, but DLC gives developers an indefinite amount of time to add what they want. Besides, if they never wanted Elites in, they would have told us long ago. I think the community has made it exceedingly clear that we want playable Elites back, and they’ve already added many other things that we’ve requested.

No. Many people pushed for equal starts again and this would just be a slap to the face of what we asked for. Also this isn’t Reach where the elites were noticeably taller. Just bring them back and make them even with spartans.
