I downloaded the 6gb update today (11/18). Initially it let me resume my campaign (I’m on Mission 15 Guardians in Legendary). Now when I try to resume from my last checkpoint it begins load does the deployment countdown goes to a black screen and the white loading symbol in the left corner and then exits the game and goes to the Xbox dashboard. If I try to replay from a previous saved checkpoint it will let me play but if I advance close to my previous highest checkpoint and die, it also exits the game and goes to the Xbox dashboard. This is more than a little frustrating having played nearly the entire campaign in legendary and now unable to complete because of a bug. I have restarted my Xbox. I have “quit” the game from the dashboard. Neither corrected the problem. Any advice much appreciated.
I have the same problem! I was playing a mission when suddenly the game quit to the dashboard and now I have the same problem you describe! I am on a different mission btw.
I have the exact same problem and happend in the same way. I’m also at a different level (enemy lines) playing it on legendary mode

I’m on mission two in solo legendary. when i die the game crashes, and i’m not be able to reload that checkpoint.
I’ve got the same issue. Just updated a few minutes ago with the 6GB update. Met the 3 wardens and now I keep getting kicked back to the start menu. Really, really pissed off…
Having the exact same problem,perfectly described by the OP, I’m on mission 7.
Highly irritating that the update seems to have fooked it up.
Are you guys sure you don’t have the crash skull activated?

I’m having the exact same problem. On solo campaign, on legendary, mission 15… In the room with exuberant fighting off forerunners and after I get to the checkpoint the game kicked me back to the main dash menu. Every attempt afterward to try and resume just kicks me back out… Wtf…
Same here guys, tried reloading mission from the start but as soon as you die and it tries to reload from the check point it closes the game back to the dash board. I have tried reinstalling the game with the update and reboot etc. both signed in and signed out but still no joy…

Me also. Chatted with Microsoft this morning and the tech acted like it wasn’t their problem. Left a message on 343 forums. Almost 24 hours now since the update and this issue came about. SAD
I had the same issue yesterday. What worked for me was starting a new mission. The ony issue is having to redo the entire level again. Hope it works.
It’s good to hear I’m not the only one experiencing this. It’s kind of a big deal. I’m sure anyone else who have advanced this far on Legendary has spent dozens of hours to get to the final mission only to encounter a bug that stifles all progress is more than a little frustrating. 343 Studios if you’re listening a). I hope you’re working on a fix, b). it would be great to hear about it. @Psychovirulence I tried this. I started from the last mission that would load from a few days ago and I played through multiple checkpoints saving in a new slot all along the way only to have the same problem with all saved checkpoints after I finally died. I suppose if I could play Mission 15 all the way through start to finish without dying I could complete the game but I probably won’t invest the time to even attempt this.
Yes this. I’m so glad I’m not the only one running into this problem. I’ve already had to restart two missions on solo legendary and it’s just aggravating.
Same problem here today. I had to do the “start new mission” solution and it fixed it for me. I really like this game but after the MCC disaster my tolerance for this kind of stuff from 343 is near zero. Hopefully every update doesn’t require another update to fix what they broke. I won’t hang around for months waiting for fixes. Can’t help but feel like modern gaming has taken a step back.
